Tesla FSD is unusable. There’s a camera inside your car that tracks your eyes to make sure you’re looking at the road, if you look down at your phone, self drive turns OFF. The steering wheel also has a weight detector to make sure you have a hand on the wheel at all times. The entire point of FSD was to not have to drive but the rules are so strict it makes it unbearable. I’ll talk to other Tesla owners when I’m at Superchargers and NO ONE uses FSD, it’s pointless to use it

The facecam inside the car is absolutely annoying and makes you want to turn it off all together but I understand the reasoning behind it. Liability in this amazing country cost companies a lot of and the gov will not allow actual full self driving especially with them being big fans of Tesla. But you can see legacy car manufacturers starting to add more cameras and offering some sort of auto assist especially in the cruise control area. Just like back up cameras became a mandate, I’m guessing smart cruise control will be next thus bringing us closer to FSD

It’s still a work in progress. It’s more of a ‘smart drive-assist’ than FSD right now. Hopefully it gets better in the future where it’s actually Fully Automatic where you don’t even need a steering wheel.
