How ironic when people complain that Apple can’t innovate, but when they do they complain that the new stuff doesn’t work on their old stuff. Big jumps in technology is that there is a compelling reason to upgrade. Why are you surprised that you would have to pay for the new? AI clearly is expensive and needs newer processing power.

This really annoys and upsets me. I saved for ages to upgrade from iPhone XS to the 15 only just a few months ago, thinking I would have the latest features at the time for at least another 5-6 years.

All of the examples used to showcase Apple AI are very lame for people who use AI already. Copilot is more mature.

Moving everyone to Apple Silicon was inevitable and necessary to keep technology moving forward. This is called progress. As for the iPhone, I would guess all or almost all future released iPhones will run the new AI features; it’s about the internal memory needed for the software to function.

Its worth noting that if you download chatGPT it has full access to your phone – if your use Siri to talk to ChatGPT that means ChatGPT is in a Box and controlled by Apple and You – the arrangement is the more secure way to try out ChatGPT
