   I haven’t used my wallet or Keys in years! Digital Key for my Kia EV9 that I share with my wife (even my kids phone but only to unlock the car, not to start it), been using Apple Pay for years. We then got the Nuki smart lock a couple of years ago with the finger print scanner. Now the only thing I take out with me is my phone/Apple Watch. All works nearly seamlessly. There is no key for my kids to lose to and from school. They can get in whenever they need to. I can share the codes/keys with my mum and neighbours. We have the Nuki cylinder so there is a physical key on the outside incase of emergencies. I haven’t upgraded to the new Aliro key pad yet but I will do soon. Even without that the Smart lock has worked great. The only thing we have to remember to do is to lift the handle (UK based so a three point locking door).
   People will moan about what happens if your phone is stolen? Well that’s why I have my Watch, that’s why there is a physical key. The only time I take my physical car key is when I go on holiday and even then it stays in the hotel room/Airbnb for emergencies.

     One key doesn’t work well for the advertisement, imagine spending in a new lock, new access pad, a HomePod, for just one key…🤣

     I used to feel the same way until someone pointed out that the same thing would happen if I lost my keys or my wallet, and neither of those have biometrics to protect them.

   You probably didn’t configured your wyze lock correctly, plus, wyze has a doorbell too, so you can see who’s outside and open the door from the same app, pretty sweet.

   “How do I get rid of this janitor sized key ring…” Ummm, why do you have so many keys to locks you can change out? I have literally 1 key for my house, and that’s it, all the other keys are work related that are not going digital any time soon.

    But this isnt the Ultra wide band (UWB) version Nuki promised. In the version they promised you wouldn’t even have to tap the phone to the keypad

    The tech is cool. But I have a feeling if using a smart lock before Aliro was not appealing to people, they aren’t going to care much for them after either. The bigger problem is people using garbage “smart” products like Wyze and then attributing all the problems they face to every smart device.

    As great as open standards are (and I hope we get what I’m about to say as open source) Apple announced last year, locks that unlock with UWB technology that’s been in their phones and watches for years now. So far only two locks have launched that have it but it’s incredible. You just walk up and it unlocks, and if your lock supports it, when you shut the door it will lock automatically. No messing with keys OR a phone. Just walk up and go inside.

    I used a home key lock for two years and tapping my watch or phone was better and faster than using my keys. But the UWB, is so fast and far more reliable. It unlocks as I walk up to the door so I just walk in, literally no friction, no thinking, no messing around. It’s genuinely the best smart lock experience you can get bar none.
