At this point, the augment “this regulation is limiting Apple’s ability to innovate” is completely invalid and is pro corporation. If this wasn’t enforced, Apple would still be using lightning on their phones for the next 10 years.

My iPad mini charger in car and home will now charge iPhones nice. Too bad my 13 mini is in great shape. Until it dies I will upgrade

Yeah they better. Apple is such a stupid brand. Ya their great but they really are so damn difficult to work with. They should HAVE to use the same charging cords instead of requiring me to buy a special brand name Iphone cable. Such a joke.

Why not have both on future phone like a transition period

It’s a lot easier and cost effective to simply sell an adapter rather than completely revamping the design to accommodate two different ports.

indroid 😂😂 why are they even changing it. Apple changing their charging port which means like Los Angeles lakers changing their home court name from staples center to crypto arena

They’re changing it in order to comply with EU law, and it means that it aligns with the vast majority of modern devices that also use USB-C.

Apple likes it messy. Not including any accessories in the box is not for environment but selling extra. Apple is mean and bad for the earth.

Hey at least they have held their promise. “Lightning will be the standard of the next decade.” 😀

It’s like we’re celebrating a new launch car in 2023 with a start-stop engine button. Apple did innovations-people are going mad, Apple late for 9yrs-people still going mad. Stop making them famous then.

Apple has security concerns and i think they have a point.

I like lightning, it’s a durable and simple connector. Who’s transferring that much data out of an iPhone anyway.

    • JoeyRedGames

      September 7, 2023 at 7:05 pm

Type C is more simple since it’s the universal cable all things use it like the ipad and Macbook

    • Brian Bourgeois

      September 7, 2023 at 9:15 pm

@JoeyRedGames I already have a lightning though. So it requires no additional cost on my part. If something uses another cable I don’t care.

  22. Gill V

    But the 15 non-Pro models will use USB-C 2.0 not 3.0

  23. Loki27

    September 7, 2023 at 9:16 pm

Lighting is a superior design but shame about the data transfer speed.

Time to throw out all old lightning charging cables into the trash can!
