Sooo stoked for these updates! Thanks for covering this more in depth. I was wondering if you’d be able to customize each piece of data on the workout screen. That’s awesome! After switching to an Apple Watch recently I was missing some of the stats I got on my old Garmin, but it looks like most, if not all (and more) are here now!

Just so I am clear, your resting HR is calculated monthly by a test you take early in the morning or something like that where you are at rest? Never had a iwatch. I’ve always used Polar HR monitors but may get one of these. Also can we use a HR chest strap?

    • Javier

      August 31, 2022 at 5:02 pm

Your resting hr is calculated through out the day when you where the watch. Then I’m guessing at the beginning of the month it get the average for the last month

Can you create the custom workouts on your iPhone and then use them in the watch?

Also, thank you so much for the in-depth video! I love it 👏👏

I was also wondering this, I love the workout tracking stuff on Apple Watch and like the look of more customisation but it’s going to be so annoying to do this on the tiny watch screen. @cnet ?

This is great for people obsessed with health metrics, but I think the whole “at a glance” feature after or during a run is more my style. Even if it just said, “You’re doing better – here are a few numbers.” I’d rather have that.

Will be so cool if “Time to Run” on Apple Fitness+ also evolves to automatically display relevant data, transitions, etc as you work through an instructor led session.
