smart door is stupid, after 5 years the tech might break or be old. SO what am i meant to do? replace the whole door.
Clay Mann
January 7, 2022 at 1:30 am
yes, you’ve turned your door into a device and as such it has the lifetime of any other device in your home. 5 years sounds like a very long stretch. It’ll be so outdated by then I doubt it would be even useful compared to what we’ll have that beats it. I’d give it two years of decent life before you want rid of it haha.

This is it? a “smart” door, a “smart” faucet, a cheaper version of Tesla’s solar panels, a “smart” doorbell, and a robot vacuum? are you kidding me? all of CES and this is what you found? If I was your editor I would have sent you back out to find real tech news. This is just recycled garbage. I just have to check, is this 2022 or 2016 ? because those products were so 2016. I bet next year PDAs will make a comeback and everyone will be talking about the latest and greatest Palm Pilot…

The drop down water faucet is very handy for concrete in floor heating setup retrofits- can’t cut onto the floor etc. the sink drain is easier to pass down a wall with Darin pipe with mechanical vent. Getting water in from the floor above saves a lot of work- worth it, no. But it is a start. Good video, thanks.

I think the door should of been number one in this video. It’s the most practical device, and once its installed. You never need worry about. But not everyone has a room layout open enough for a robo vacuum… Everyone has a front door, but if your furniture is to close together. Then it only cleans like half the house. Why the door at 5 to. Like you insulted everything else after but 1, and you put this at 5. I’m lost

So they took a regular door put, Motors on the hinges for it to open and close itself. Put a Ring doorbell inside the door and replace the deadbolt. And they call that technology? We are hopeless.

Booooooring . Don’t get me wrong, CES is great and (some) products are too, but if you want to reinvent something, do it better. Think about how cluttered are some homes with things that are from 20 years ago or even more. Focus on that idea.

the ring doorbell in the door should be wired not just for power but ethernet for higher reliability and better 4k or 5k picture to an NVR with no monthly fee required (but still have the option if desired for the same price as the regular wifi doorbell)

The faucet from the ceiling appeals to me. I was going to install a pot filler tap over my stove. But this appeals to me more.
Price is a bit much though. About 10 fold too much. But the concept is good.

#5: nobody wants to be tracked walking inside their home everyday
#4: it’s a $$$$ hose. I’m surprised it’s not green
#3: at least it is cheaper option than $$$ grabbing Tesla.. Maybe cheaper in future…
#2: we don’t need any more smart doorbells
#1: just put a camera, microphone and lidar In everything 😉

Don’t get that roomba. At the moment it is best to get a separate roomba and mop. We have a Narwal, going to get it plumbed up so that it can refill and empty grey water directly, so very little maintenance. We’re looking for another roomba to go along with it to handle the vacuuming and automatic disposal so that we only need to empty it every couple of weeks or so.

That hanging faucet is a great “idea” – Professional Kitchens use it like how mechanics use air-hoses. Hanging-up and out of the way when not in use But…… dat $rice at 6 G’s lol is crazy! Plus you need to re-route your existing plumbing say another $3-5K I guess if ur building a new home will be the best way to introduce this system (lower cost) so yea….
You know what, this is a-lot of talking about for a freaking faucet!
