“Life doesn’t go from A to B — it’s messy,” says sailing legend Tracy Edwards. My god, I miss the old feminists like her who simply wanted an equal shot and then took responsibility for finding fulfillment in her life. God bless her. The newer wave Twitter feminists would have never made their own boat or crew, nor found any fulfilling adventure. They’d have just protested the event for being an oppressive patriarchal tool of the capitalist system and canceled it. So ask yourself young Twitter feminist warrior, which of these lives would you rather live?

Education (as in school) isn’t for everyone – I wish I had her mother. I wish society as a whole realised this instead of labelling all forms of not being made for sitting still for all of your childhood and adolescence to let your life be taken over by societies claims on you instead of living your own as some form of illness.

One of the best TED Talks. I just feel the title isn’t doing it justice. People who should see it might not click on it. Like for example men in general.

The fact that you can be a wonderfull navegator, no represents the most people. The oceans requires strong, speed, brave and etc…This qualities are presents much more in mens that womnes. A man who won’t allow a woman to be a navigator on his boat just because she’s a woman is not a rational man. Since none of these men would allow it on the same principle it stands to reason that there is not a single ratonal man in the sailing profession.

I’m all for equality, but imagine a man trying to compete in a major female-dominated activity and being given everything he needs just because he’s a man… the girls would tell the man to get it all himself.

This is so amazing! I feel stuck between two worlds- one is doing what I’m “supposed” to do (living in suburbia, near good schools, etc) the other is living unapologetically, just the way my heart desires. I have kids, so I worry about making a decision that will hurt their future. I worry that the less traveled path in life won’t offer them a bright future…

Do you sometimes feel bad?Are people mean to you?
Are you afraid of taking risks and doing what makes you really happy,
so you often agree with other people’s opinions just for the sake of compatibility?

I was trying to listen her valuables experiences, but it is the same generic message that the media is repeating all the day long. I am a woman, I am free, I am not going to allow any man decide about my future… ok, I guess that another woman can decide for you, and i guess that to be under the thumb of another woman is ok. Generic populist and hollow speech.
