    The first blood spray scene was in the movie Sanjuro by Kurosawa. They made a mistake estimating the amount of blood loss after a beheading by the sword. This resulted in an enormous fountain of blood. It’s an iconic scene.
    Also because the scene itself is extremely well made.
    Just look for blood spray Sanjuro.

    I punctured a vein in my leg onve and blood was shooting out as I was standing. Called the emergency number, dr said it must be a vein based on type of injury, vein pressure at the spot was increased because of the column of blood above. Arteries are deep in the body to avoid leaks.
