according to mkbhd about the same

    • Vishal Venkat

      October 12, 2022 at 5:31 pm

@moved channels I tried unlocking my S22 the same way he showed trying to unlock the pixel 7 and the S22 took the same amount of tries. He has an unreasonable testing method.

    • Christopher

      October 12, 2022 at 5:49 pm

@Vishal Venkat usually if your fingers are oily, or wet the reader won’t read your fingerprint properly. My s22 ultra unlocks immediately with one try.

Edge detection is much better on iPhone though. Cinematic Video on Pixel looks really bad imo

I couldn’t care less about cameras, yet every video talks about that for over hald the lenght
We are in 2022, every flagship camera is the same for most people, jeez…

    • Christopher

      October 12, 2022 at 5:51 pm

It’s the main selling point because most smart phones look similar these days. They took away top features like extendable storage and a headphone jack so now they will harp on cameras until everyone is blue in the face.

    • Ms7b

      October 12, 2022 at 9:25 pm

Every flagship phone is powerful nowadays, the difference always comes down to the cameras.

    • Christopher

      October 12, 2022 at 9:31 pm

@Ms7b google has dominated the market for still photos and from what I understand Apple has the video recording on lock. Despite Samsung being able to shoot 8K which no one is really using that much yet, considering the amount of space it eats up.

The Google Pixel 6 Series and Pixel 7 Series are pretty much the SAME. Starting from the Camera Sensor and SoC. Camera sensor still uses ISOCELL GN1 and Tensor G2 only improves the quality of AI and Machine Learning.

What to buy: Pixel 7 or IPhone 13?

I am an apple user with 10 years of experience, but six months ago I crashed my iphone 7 plus and temporarily switched to android before the fall apple and Google presentations

    • Juan Barraza

      October 12, 2022 at 7:06 pm

Get a 13 Pro Max it’s sleek and has the good refresh rate and big screen like the 7plus. Also you should be able to find it for cheaper.

    • Yaroslav Mironenko

      October 12, 2022 at 7:23 pm

@Juan Barraza in Germany it’s unprofitable purchase. Prices became higher on pro versions of old apple products

    • Kyan Gonzalez

@Yaroslav Mironenko then the pixel 7 it is

Don’t buy if you have a pixel 6? I wasn’t planning on it but Best buys $480 trade in plus $100 gift card is a no brainer for me.

    • brad jackson

      October 12, 2022 at 9:26 pm

  16. Austin

    October 12, 2022 at 7:09 pm

One major issue I had with the Pixel 6 (and went through three phones) was that when you have the screen set to very low brightness, grays weren’t consistent. One phone the entire bottom half of screen was red. The second the right half of the screen was green and the third the left side green.
    How’s the Pixel 7?

  17. Alex Vazquez

    October 12, 2022 at 7:10 pm

    Do support Mmwave bands?

  24. Ronnie Westmoreland

    October 12, 2022 at 9:30 pm

If it works smoothly software wise with face unlock, higher brightness and has more stability with the G2 chip the pixel 7 would be a great upgrade. But I think I’ll take a wait and see approach this year to ensure that there are no repeat tensor bugs.

Does the 7 have the option to select square mode for all photos? I have the 4a and have to edit each photo to get square mode.

    • Tech Nerd

      October 13, 2022 at 6:28 pm

I think that’s a software option in the phone app. So yes, it should have it.

Great review! I have the z flip 4 and had the pixel 6 last year, which I sold because it was too buggy, do you think the pixel 7 is a better device overall than the z flip 4?

  28. J

    October 13, 2022 at 2:20 am

No contest if purchasing for software and updates google for the win.
Samsung may promise but always fails to deliver.
My S21 is always a month behind on security updates and once again failed to receive today as scheduled.

Same old cameras, all they did was change the design a little bit & shrink the battery.. thats not good enough for me.

    • Tech Nerd

      October 13, 2022 at 6:37 pm

they did much more than that. You should watch some of the more detail reviews. cnet review is a gloss-over and not a detailed review.

I’m not impressed, and the Pro version has average battery, terrible “fast charge” and curve display, three strikes 👎 7 Pro with better battery life, flat screen and 7 size would be perfect 👌

  31. Kevin Clark

    October 13, 2022 at 2:47 am

Yeah, the galaxy looks better. But then you gotta live with the Galaxy trash junkware. Samsung nobody likes Bixby, nobody likes your SMS or phone app. Just make hardware and go away.

  32. somali_socialist

In the UK, Google is offering Pixel Watch LTE for free with every Pixel 7 Pro, so this will be an easy purchase.

  33. Alex A

    October 13, 2022 at 6:18 am

If I want to purchase this phone, should I be worried it only has 3 years OS update support? I understand it has 5 year security update support. But isn’t OS update support just as important? Doesn’t OS updates include the latest security updates? Android makes it so confusing. I wish they’d be like Apple and just give 5 years for both updates. It will make it so much easier to decide.

  34. Nizar Noor

    October 13, 2022 at 8:39 am

Still too big, which sucks. I’m so sick of big phones. And no, I’m not interested in budget phones with low specs.

    • TheCollector316

      October 13, 2022 at 10:36 am

I’m in the same boat. Why is it so hard to make a small version of a flagship phone? The smaller phone always has gimped specs.

  35. TheCollector316

    October 13, 2022 at 10:26 am

Thank goodness they got rid of the two-toned design. That looks awful to me.

I bought the Pixel 7 Pro. It’s my first Google device. I’m looking forward to it. It edged out the Sony Xperia 5 IV for me due to a trade-in deal with the Pixel.

  36. John Ekow

I want the pixel 7 in black but I’m satisfied with the pixel 6.

  37. B Blackwell

Is there any problem with the color grading of this video?

  41. maxrockbin

    October 13, 2022 at 5:01 pm

Something EVERY review gets wrong? 3D info is used in FaceUnlock: It uses the split/dual focus in each pixel of the front camera to create some depth info. So it’s not purely 2d, per Google. No one has confirmed this that I’ve seen by testing it with a face photo.

  42. Vincent Koech

    October 13, 2022 at 7:24 pm

The blurred photo of you from 10 years ago 😮

My LG G6 just took a dirt nap. Ordered a Pixel 7 to replace it. Pretty pumped.

  44. Omen Lock

    October 13, 2022 at 9:55 pm

I have been using pixel 6 pro, and I still do not get the best carrier network connectivity, my finger print scanner is still not the best, my battery life still sucks, and most of the time I am just loading Amazon app when I click my account and YouTube end up loading for 10sec when I click on library, and lowlight front camera picture looks worst, so I paid google to make pixel 7 good phone and I still don’t get great trade in value to get pixel 7 pro.

  45. Adam Tajyar

    October 14, 2022 at 12:02 am

    The pixel is trash.
