For five days we tested a review sample of the iPhone 14 on loan from Apple. On the outside the 14 inherits the tried and true flat-aluminum sided design from the iPhone 12 and 13. On the inside, Apple essentially repackaged the iPhone 13 Pro sans the telephoto camera and the high refresh-rate screen. The result is quite lovely and makes the iPhone 14 a good upgrade for most people.

The 14 are not worth it, everyone looking for the base line should go for the 13, except you want the plus screen and not the expensive and heavy pro max experience.

Upgrading from my 13 Mini to a 14. Don’t want the heft of the Pros but still want better battery life and a better camera, so I’m set. The bigger screen will be a nice bonus as i constantly watch YouTube, as well as the extra gaming performance and extra RAM. Just disappointed they didn’t put ProMotion in the base 14 models this year. Hopefully next year they will with the 15.

      September 14, 2022 at 3:17 pm

@winsley ocampo yep. I only owe a little over $100 for the Mini, and they’re giving me $380 for it, so why not? Lol.

14 plus with pro motion and usb-c is what I wanted. oh well, another year to wait (using an XR, no reason to upgrade)

I think Apple could of easily implemented the new notification software into the notch 🤔 but yeahhh

      September 14, 2022 at 9:53 pm

They just want to make a different look so that apple fans will show off their new iPhone…
They literally wasted the screen by creating a disconnected cutout unlike their older notch where the cutout was connected…

This video has made it clear to me that an Iphone 13 pro is a better overall deal than the Iphone 14.

Yeah, I’d have to agree. The 120hz screen alone is worth it alone.

I own XR right now. Is it worth to upgrade to 14?

    • Jose Guardado

      September 14, 2022 at 5:52 pm

No, keep it until the software is no longer available for the XR

    • Garrus Vakarian

      September 14, 2022 at 7:33 pm

you can buy an 11 or later for battery life and performance, or get the 13 or 14 pro for 120hz, those are the only 2 features, i’m using an XR and I’m waiting for cheap 120hz (base model) or usb-c, so no i’m not upgrading, just get the iOS upgrade and that’s enough (you might want the 14 plus if you want amazing battery life and don’t care about 120hz, that’s the other option, the XR has not great battery life)

    • Zayn 24

      September 14, 2022 at 11:55 pm

@Garrus Vakarian yeah my battery is horrible right now

Why is the📱 14+ not being released until October 7?

    • Garrus Vakarian

      September 14, 2022 at 7:32 pm

because it is the one that everyone actually wants out of all the new models, and Apple wants people to buy more Pro Maxs if you want the larger screen first, as they make more money (14 plus has the lowest margin)

I can currently trade my iPhone 12pro for the 14 base model at no charge. Do you feel that would be an upgrade?

    • Trace's Aviation Adventures

      September 14, 2022 at 5:55 pm

      No

    • Garrus Vakarian

      September 14, 2022 at 7:31 pm

no, there was a battery life and performance improvement from the XR to the 11, but since then nothing really, and then 11 to 12 they went OLED, which honestly for me doesn’t matter, and then with the 13 pro they got 120hz… which is the only thing I notice, so if you are not going to the 13 pro or 14 pro, you literally won’t notice much difference from the 11 onwards imo (only XR upgraders or TO 120hz upgraders will notice any improvements)

  14. Jesus Navarrete

    September 14, 2022 at 5:36 pm

“Upgrade” just get the 13 Pro Max 💀

    • Harry Finn

      13 pro

  16. Trace's Aviation Adventures

    September 14, 2022 at 5:55 pm

I like everything said in the review. Except for The iPhone 14 being solid upgrade part. I think if someone is coming from an iPhone 11 or older. the iPhone 13 is the Better buy, because the upgrades between the 14 and 13 are so minor and having the same chip as the 13 that it’s not worth buying the 14 at that starting price at $799. People upgrading there phones this year are better off getting the iPhone 13 series over the 14. But if someone wants a larger iPhone with out the Pro price tag, the iPhone 14 Plus is something to look at but not at that starting price of $899.

very nice review. the iphone 13 will have a drop in price and will be a better deal than a iPhone 14.

The Pro models are the only models that are worth upgrading to. The basic models are useless.

I’m just getting the 14 plus because I don’t need any pro model and it was still cheaper than the 13 pro max. I just needed an upgrade that’s also plus size
