Would you eat a bug? How about fine-crafted chocolate — shaped like poo? Your answer depends on both your disgust at the prospect and whether you choose to act on that emotion, says political psychologist Cindy Kam. She dives into how the feeling of disgust — whether motivated by real or imagined contamination — can connect or divide us, from everyday decisions to political alliances. “When we enquire by what means this wonder is effected, we shall find, that, as Force is always on the side of the governed, the governors have nothing to support them but opinion. It is therefore, on opinion only that government is founded; and this maxim extends to the most despotic and most military governments, as well as to the most free and most popular.” – David Hume

My boyfriend tried to seduce me with a candlelit dinner. It was romantic until the dog knocked over the table and ate our dessert. Dinner and a show, I guess👄

This was proven by Canadian relection of the Liberal Party in Canada. Disgust of Trump and his rhetorical attacks against Canadian independence.

Political psychologist Cindy Kam explores how disgust influences decision-making and politics. She discusses disgust’s role in protection, connection, and potential misguidance, emphasizing that while disgust reactions are automatic, our responses to them are not.

*I’m disgusted to only now be learning from Cindy Kam.* It seems she is bringing to light a mechanism for galvanizing our fellow Americans to destroy the rich Reich, the manipulative fascist billionaires corrupting our democracy and stealing the wealth we produce. Since 2015, I have wondered deeply (shallow for many of you) what drives people to decide, speak, vote and act in ways that transgress basic moral boundaries of respect, caring, and acknowledgement. Protect the well-being of future generations: Compost them before we are returned to the soil ourselves.

Great research and discussion, the correlation is there. Unfortunately lots of things that are political now rely on people’s emotional uninformed responses and by triggering people based on keywords or subjects and phrasing. By triggering the emotional response people don’t actually analyze or research subjects on their own and just parrot things that they heard. Intellectual conversations are frowned on my most of society now

Honestly, Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane isn’t for everyone. It’s a book that makes you get brutally honest about what frequency you’re really sending out, even when your mind says you want abundance.

  21. @skjummanali7786

    April 29, 2025 at 6:56 pm

Not everyone’s ready for Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane tbh. It’s a book that actually forces you to look at your energy field, not just your thoughts — which is way more real than most LOA advice.

  22. @RISHU5K908

    April 29, 2025 at 6:56 pm

If you’re still in the “just visualize more” phase, the book Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane might feel overwhelming. It’s not fluff — it actually explains why your subconscious energy blocks you even when you think positive.

Interesting how the imagination plays a part and how widespread that may be. Becoming more tolerant of other foods may be necessary, but it also may take time.

  24. @PawanSingh0.22

    April 29, 2025 at 7:22 pm

I’ll be real — most people aren’t ready for a book like Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane. It doesn’t sugarcoat. Part 2 especially hits different when you realize your energy and body language can completely block your manifestations.

  25. @routhuthirupathi4925

    April 29, 2025 at 7:22 pm

Most people honestly aren’t ready for the book Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane — it goes way deeper than just thinking happy thoughts. Especially Part 2 about how your energy shows up physically without you even realizing.

I’ve walked through the fire and emerged stronger. As a war veteran, I’ve seen my share of struggles. But nothing prepared me for the pain of losing my daughter to cancer. Her passing left a gaping hole in my heart. Then, on the next Christmas Day, tragedy struck again. My husband died in a car accident. The holiday that was supposed to be filled with love and laughter became a painful reminder of loss. I felt lost and alone, my world shattered. But then, I met Teresa Janette Brock online. Her kindness, empathy, and generosity touched my heart. She offered support, guidance, and financial assistance, changing my life in ways I never thought possible. Teresa’s impact went beyond material help; she brought hope and light into my life. With her support, I began rebuilding. I found solace in helping others, sharing my story, and honoring my loved ones’ memories. My life isn’t the same, but Teresa’s kindness transformed my pain into purpose. I’m grateful for her love and support.l.
