Chrome OS makes more sense on a tablet than it does on a laptop

      Why do you say so

@5:41 I don’t think it’s the mic. Just might be you. Unless your using the Lenovo mic to record this review.

Here is why it’s a big deal. The 128 GB costs $300 and Lenovo includes a cover and keyboard in the box. You also get stylus support. They are showing us that we can get a good deal on convertibles without paying so much for the likes of iPad pro and surface devices. They are amazing devices but to use all what they have to offer you have to pay close to the price tag of a premium PC or Mac

Looks pretty nice. And frankly, for most consumers, I think it could easily serve as their main computer. I’ve been using Chrome OS devices as my main computers since 2014 with no problems. They do everything most people need. They may not have everything a “power” user wants or needs, but very few are in that category.

You left the most important information for the last line of the review

Since this is portable – how would I connect to the internet ?
I would like to have my financial apps available on it and I would not trust free retail wi-fi to be secure.

@Trevor BMG I have a tracfone cell phone service – but does this Chromebook have a sim in it that tracfone cell towers would work with ? I’ve never had a tablet before and don’t know how this stuff works. Maybe you have to buy a monthly service with some certain company to have internet access on the Chromebook – I don’t know

  8. Trevor BMG

    May 11, 2020 at 9:35 pm

You still haven’t said why this is a big deal

I know he’s made this video from home but it feels very underwhelming and unorganized. You can definitely tell he didn’t care at all. I would’ve made a better reviewer.

it should be similar to an android tablet,, a comparison would have been useful,, maybe another video?

  18. vladimir gertsik

    May 11, 2020 at 10:47 pm

It is not a big deal. It is crappy tablet, and is too small for a laptop. Can be useful for light use on the go, or with monitor attached.

  19. Tim Lawless

    May 11, 2020 at 10:50 pm

What it matters is that it is hard to find an andorid tablet with 4gb of ram in this price range.

I was going to buy this thing, but they lost my business as soon as I heard there is no 3.5 mm jack or SD card slot. What is their excuse? There is plenty of space.

    • Luis Russell

      May 12, 2020 at 4:35 pm

Hector G. It’s $300. That’s why! Lenovo saved money so it could keep the cost down. Most of us use Bluetooth devices anyhow.

    • Steve Weinberg

      May 12, 2020 at 10:46 pm

Dude! It comes with a USB-C to 3.5mm dongle. Does Apple include those?

      he answered that…

    • Dhruv Halwasiya

@3165dwayne well, he said that the display can be extended but in the video I could only see the Chromebook being mirrored.

      Wanted to confirm.

    • Josh Goldman @ CNET

      May 13, 2020 at 11:16 pm

There aren’t much space left in the tablet market now that iPads are in every price category. What can this do that the iPad can’t? Files, keyboard, and mouse are supported, plus there sure are lots of iOS apps in favour of iPads. The problem with cheap Android/Chrome/Windows tablet is that they are slow and stutter quite a bit, in comparison to Apple’s smooth experience thanks to software-hardware integration. If you value traditional desktop experience, it makes more sense to get a laptop with better performance, instead of a compromised middle-of-the-road machine that gives you mediocre experience on both tablet and laptop sides.

  54. Aryan Agarwal

    May 13, 2020 at 7:53 am

    May 13, 2020 at 11:56 am

I dont understand Lenovo, they have some of the most versatile tablets in the world i.e tab 3.
But they insist on skimping on
    Ram
    Memory expansion
    Sound Quality.
Good screen is only half of the experience because we have two ears as well!
With the world on lock down and working from home being more popular power and versatility are important to win this market, which Lenovo could do with ease.
