After more than two weeks with the clever clamshell, I believe Samsung has addressed most of the major issues I had with the Z Flip 3. But I’d like to see the Z Flip 4’s cover display get more functionality and for the battery life and cameras to improve even more.

Have no interest in a folding phone

    The crease doesn’t bother U?
How much did Samsung pay U to say that? 😂🤣🤪💯👎👎👎

Does the I phone notch bother you after some time with the phone?

Ive been using my Z flip 4 for a few days now. Never had a foldable and the crease isnt noticeable ever.

      September 3, 2022 at 6:24 pm

I personally love the feel of the crease 😂😂 and looking at the screen while in use you can’t see it. And I’m definitely not a Samsung fanboy.

@Peter Heemskerk me too.. I don’t know why I always want to touch the crease part with my nails 😂

Compare to early models which is what most folks would upgrade from. Not sure why everyone compares to the last model.

    • Toronto 360 Productions

      September 3, 2022 at 7:40 pm

Because “theoretically” , a “latest model” is done by honing the last model, using bad feedback from consumers so they could not only get any issues fixed (which I’m sure they’re aware since day 01, but it’s cheaper and not many people notice or complaint about it so they can play dumb awhile) but as consumers starts to get bored, they launch a new version which is the same thing, but slightly less cheaper hardware with some software improvements…. And that’s why it’s always the last model. What’s easier? Modify and enhance a existing product which is now yours, or trying to find people create something from the scratch and go through years of trial and error?

didn’t samsung fold test them 200’000 times?

    • Jeremy Morrison

      September 3, 2022 at 7:02 pm

@_2fame4u_ o_o in a lab. My flip 3 cracked right at the fold after 9 months of use

    • Player 1135

      September 3, 2022 at 8:27 pm

this is fake.. I use flip3 for 1 year and there’s no way flip3 can crack.. lol.. the screen is not a glass

    • Jeremy Morrison

      September 3, 2022 at 9:19 pm

@Player 1135 yes it can and yes it does. Would you like to see a picture? Also the glass on the Fold and Flip is called UTG which stands for Ultra Thin Glass.

You said there is no option to dictate from the cover screen while the video literally shows you scrolling past the dictate button 😐

  9. Will

    September 3, 2022 at 6:39 pm

Too bad the cover screen is still pretty much useless. If I can’t mark an SMS as read or delete an email from the cover screen, I’m not buying. Come on, Samsung.

Moved over to the flip 4 from the Moto razor 5G. Love the form factor and will be a foldable advocate for life. Build quality compared to the razor is very noticeable. After using the flip 4 for about a week while packing the razor to trade in, it felt like a toy. Cameras are much better. Getting used to the Samsung ecosystem which I recall from my previous ownership of a G7. All in all and upgrade for me. Having some issues connecting the flip for to the Moto ma1 for wireless Android auto, but the wired connection works fine.

The bespoke colors come in a glossy finish. I just got mine today and was not happy with my new fingerprint magnet. I may return it if it drives me crazy.

Really interested in a Flip4 for its compactness. Im worried though since i have an s21 ultra that id feel a massive downgrade in cam quality, battery life, and ram speed.

    • Binh Tran

      September 3, 2022 at 8:59 pm

Just switched from s22U ultra to z flip 4. Z flip 4 beats S22 ultra at every aspect except camera.

I do like this phone a lot! This is my first flip smartphone, but I do wish the camera was better. I do like the foldable aspect because I mostly travel by bicycle 🚲. I also wish there was more capability with the cover screen.

    September 3, 2022 at 11:16 pm

If the Z Flip 4 had support for the Spen , I would have bought it instead the Z Fold 4.
No matter how cool is the Fold to do lots of multitasking and media consumption, I would rather have a very powerful Z Flip that can accept the SPen just because it is cool and easier to carry it around in any pocket . Maybe some day Samsung will make a very powerful ( losing nothing to the Ultra) small phone that have it all … including the Spen … I always wanted a Small Galaxy Note phone …

I just bought it I like it👍 the only thing Samsung should do next time the do a flip to put the out screen a little bigger like the Motorola razor..that way we could do more stuff without opening the phone

Seems like too minor of an upgrade over the predecessor. That being said, it’s one of the best clamshell in the market now, especially for first timers or users of older gens.

I traded in my LG V60 for a Samsung Flip 4. You ask why? Mainly the fingerprint scanner was becoming more twitchy as of late. I had an upgrade available since April of this year and I like different looking things, hence my Porsche 928 and Hamilton Ventura automatic. Seveal people have noticed the Flip and have been curious about. Bixby sounds handicapped in a speech impediment Kinda way.I think it feels premium in my hand. I ordered the pink gold but was sent the graphite…doesent matter as I have a leather case on it. Thank you for your review. There are some features that I wished it would have that LG had but I will deal.

I wish all phone producers took 2 years to just focus on the battery. The performance gains are so miniscule year to year unless you are 0.1% who actually render videos on your phone and compare it to your other phone side by side.

How is the call quality? No one mentions that…it is a phone. I have the s21 ultra and since June it has had call issues like dropping words/seconds in middle of a conversation. To the receiver they have to try and guess what word was used. Occasionally I cannot use voice activated menu options. No one has been able to fix and have tried everything. Wifi on makes it worse, wifi calling does not help. So looking at a flip 4. A bit concerned to lose the 12g of ram for 8 the flip has. Any input greatly appreciated.
