Make sure to check out my text review for more on sleep tracking, blood oxygen sensor and reverse wireless charging to name a few!

Why it is that you only focus on fitness?? For that price I think is worth mentioning it productive capabilities, LTE usage, or the lack of them. I mean… It has to perform well not only in fitness and GPS. I’m a huge fan of your content, but fitness is not my thing and not for many others

    • Lexy Savvides

      August 25, 2022 at 9:15 pm

@René Sánchez please take a watch of the regular Galaxy Watch 5 review. I covered all that because it’s identical. This review focuses on what different features it has.

Great review Lexi!! I almost hate to ask but did you talk to Cherlynn low and compare findings??? I assume there’s some professional rivalry there haha but you’re both great at reviews!

Hi Lexy ,great video ..Will you recommend returning garmin venu 2 plus and getting this one . I also ordered the fold 4 . Please help .I don’t hike or anything but mostly interested in sleep ,heart rate tracking .

    • Lexy Savvides

      August 26, 2022 at 3:24 pm

@Hk I love the Garmin Venu 2 Plus, it’s definitely slimmer and easier to wear than this Watch. But not as durable. I prefer the Garmin sleep tracking and recovery metrics, the heart rate monitoring is good but it has no ECG. So if you need that, get the Galaxy watch

    • Hk

      August 28, 2022 at 11:25 am

@Lexy Savvides honestly the only thing I dislike is the size . I am 192 cm and love big watches . Probably should get epix 2 . But thinking should I give a shot on galaxy watch 5 but scared about sleep tracking and health metrics .

Couldn’t pass up on the opportunity to trade up my Moto 360 2nd gen. Get my gray titanium model tomorrow. For how basic I am with my watches its def gonna meet my needs.

It’s fully waterproof but I wouldn’t keep it in salt water for too long. Definitely rinse it with fresh water if you do get salt water on it.

Use the mechanical wheel on my GW1 all the time, barely touch the screen.

Looks like I’ll be sticking with my one for… the rest of time?

  5. cooluser23

How does it compare to the Mont Blanc, or Tag Heuer for workouts? (Ignore the price difference)

  6. Diederik Veldhuizen

    August 25, 2022 at 8:47 pm

i have 1 question? how does the watch en your phone react when you also use a carkit? is the watch going to disconnect with your phone or can it duoconnect?

  7. xKID CHAMELEONx

    August 25, 2022 at 9:07 pm

Considering they didn’t upgrade the processor or the ram I really don’t think I’m going to upgrade from my Galaxy watch 4 classic. The only upgrade in my eyes is the battery and that doesn’t justify the price. I think I’ll wait until the next iteration.

Funny thing is that this watch is small compared to its supposed competitors.

Pre-ordered mines last week and received it this pass Monday. So far I love it. It really isn’t much different than the watch 4. Mainly I’m loving the better battery life I guess mainly do to the bigger battery. It seems to run smoother and faster then the watch 4. However it could be just from being new. I like the bigger size and the build. Feels premium. I do kinda miss the rotating bezel on a premium device but the digital one isn’t too bad. Expectly with practice. The new band style is great. Only issue I see is if u need to do reverse charging from you Galaxy device. The band makes it almost impossible unless you remover it. But again do to the bigger battery you hopefully won’t need to charge. A stand would have been nice to sit it on while charging though. Since it doesn’t sit flat on a desktop. Overall I’m very happy with it.

    • Lexy Savvides

      August 25, 2022 at 10:15 pm

100% agree with you about the stand!

    • Kyle Sullivan

      August 25, 2022 at 10:26 pm

I swapped out band almost immediately it just doesn’t fit right on baby wrists i have some nice stainless steel bands snd getting a mesh titanium one ive had my eyes on

    • Quadir Dow

      August 25, 2022 at 10:32 pm

There are work around for the band actually. It isn’t impossible! Just search it up

    August 25, 2022 at 10:01 pm

1 problem with a physical rotating bezel even though I love it but it causes accidental touchs and the bezel to accidentally rotate

    August 25, 2022 at 10:39 pm

Actually really love the cheap $5 Apple Watch shield cover I got on Amazon that snaps over it and I don’t worry about bumping my watch on a doorknob again haha

The only one reason why samsung replace galaxy watch classic version and prefer non rotating bezel that’s actually because they want looks same as google pixel watch and that watch will arrived along together Google pixel 7 lineup

Typically from Samsung releases a watch with sensores that don’t work out of the box, we need to wait,6 months or more for the skin temperature sensor

  22. Eddy Alvarenga

    August 26, 2022 at 12:41 am

My Cons in 4 days using it:
    1) Google Pay/ Samsung Pay – obligatory Pin when set, locks the watch, not the app. Any time the watch gets lose in your wrist it triggers the lock and you have to use the pin even to check the time. In the Tizen days, it would lock only Samsung Pay. Very annoying feature.
    2) No rotating bezel – The virtual bezel is not precise so I have now been using the screen to scroll.
    3) ECG does not work for non Samsung phone users.
    4) I expected the battery to last longer, so far I disabled the NFT and GPS to have the battery last more than 24 hours.
    Pros:
    1) Very fast charging
    2) The watch lip protects the screen
    3) Google Assistant
    4) Beautiful and useful watch faces out of the box

hi i m interested for the latest possible smartwatch. budget is irrelevant for me.
so i have come to known epix 2 ,but current crown on garmin enduro 2 vs galaxy watch 5 pro ?
so which is mostly usefulnes for use. let say i love to use sideloaded apps as a plus feature. antoher point is which ever smartwatch i like to use for a long time for their usefullness and customizable ability or even modded ability.
i known garmin epix gen2 for a while but it seems stable and epic enough but not entirely relevant to the android usefullness but i can say it got quality over quantity which is really unbalance quality.
in my perspective im not sure any smawarch serve for my expectation of longetivity and usefullness of functions.
anyone kindly any advice appreciated .

Why have we gone backwards? You have been able to pair chest straps with Android Wear for YEARS. I just don’t understand what these companies are thinking sometimes. I’m glad the HR monitor on the watch is fairly accurate, but I always used a chest strap during my weight lifting sessions because the watch would frequently lose contact with my wrist during the movements.

since the og galaxy watch in 2018?? its from galaxy gear s2 from 2015… how are you guys talking tech when your knowledge is so average?

  50. Daniel W

    August 27, 2022 at 12:21 pm

The first thing I noticed was the weight difference. The 5 pro is way lighter than the 46mm 4 classic .

  51. Chuck Richardson

    August 27, 2022 at 4:52 pm

The first problem is they’re calling this the Galaxy watch 5 and the Galaxy watch 5 pro…the name alone is a lie and is misleading. Samsung secretly got rid of their classic line and all they have decided to go with is their active line, so did a name change.. They should have called this the Galaxy watch active 5 and the Galaxy watch active 5 pro as that is exactly what this watch is it is the newest active watch and this is disappointing as not everybody is a fitness freak or wants to wear a fitness style watch. Also that market is becoming quite flooded between companies like Fitbit and Apple respectively. Samsung was one of the few companies left that you could get a substantial decent looking classic looking smartwatch from. It looks like I will have to stick with my watch 4.. hopefully Samsung backtracks on this and just like they did when they tried to get rid of the note. Other companies like Google and Huawei just don’t compare in their smart watches and not everybody is into the iWatch-esque type smartwatch

  52. CF S1kR

    August 27, 2022 at 5:42 pm

I can’t see why they can’t add blood pressure in American markets?

  53. Supa Fly RVGuy

    August 27, 2022 at 6:51 pm

I have the Galaxy 3 and i still love it. I have been excited to see the 5 pro. I do have a question, now that galaxy is using google, would i be able to download apple music to the watch? (For music control) I dont use spotify.

  55. Michael Reilly

    August 28, 2022 at 3:35 am

It needs to have continuous glucose monitoring, and I’ll pay double for it; otherwise, I don’t see a need for it. I have a watch on my Galaxy z Fold 3. My special deal z Fold 4, Buds2 Pro, & Watch 5 Pro arrive on Monday. I’ll probably just resell the Watch 5 Pro (unopened) on eBay.

Without a rotating bezel I do not see them selling very well. My local Best Buys had one in stock on launch day so I would say that speaks volumes on how well they think it is going to sell

  62. Ben Manley

    August 28, 2022 at 10:48 pm

Some reviewers are hating the band and saying to replace it as soon as you remove it from the box. And for $500 a wall charger should be in the box. Sadly these companies are saving thousands not including a charger in anything these days and not passing that on. You are one of the only reviewer I have seen wearing the watch while showing you using your finger to move around the new dial. I have just tried running my finger around the dial like I would have to if I had this new watch and I would not be able to see the screen very well. It is time to look at Garmin or others to replace my samsung watch, I’m just going to miss the LTE so I might look to Apple
