These phones are getting too big. I ended up getting the standard note 10 over the 10 plus because I can put a case on it and still fit it in most phone holders
I can also still hold it without feeling like I’m about to drop it.

Isn’t it more of a metallic finish rather than a matte? Similar to what’s used on cars, and guitar finishes. Hides fingerprints very well and looks great.

I love big phones. Watching TV, playing games just makes it more enjoyable. People who cry about phones being too big these days should just get a small flip phone to just to make calls because why would you wanna look at some small screen every day

    Nice video!
I watched it on my Huawei Mate 20x.
Thanks to politics, today I just may have received my last security patch update 😟
I ordered the accompanying M-Pen that you can only get with this phone and it works quite well for note-taking , drawing and clever function that you can draw a square around something on the screen and it will take a screenshot. It doesn’t support air gestures nor does it store on the phone. I compared it with the Note 10 plus in hopes of switching and was not satisfied and had high hopes for the Note 20 ultra. But somehow I still think I would be downgrading in a couple aspects.

The love the curve screen, never had a problem with it. The definition of Samsung phones is to stand out from others. One thing that I notice is that people love to nitpick on Samsung phones. But if we look at every other phones they have Samsung DNA writing all over it. The only thing that I wish Samsung phones had was the pixel cameras software.

Everyone who says ‘Note 20 Ultra is expensive’. PLEASE give me another option which has:

    120hz screen
a TRULY bright display for viewing in direct sunlight
4K 60fps on front and back, as well as 8K
A quality Zoom function at least 20x
    Wireless charging
    Premium build
    Expandable storage

That’s all I ask. I have researched and found no alternative. Then there are the new Microsoft features, S Pen, Xbox gamepass, etc.

Also if someone is looking for a 5 bed house with a pool, are you going to suggest a 1 bed flat with no garden?

Thanks for this review. My two cents: As a Note 9 (512 Gb) owner I can say that imho this Note 20 Ultra is a huge fail and a big disappointment. Aside from the fact that a Samsung is joking the European people, with the hilarious version equipped with the old Exxon’s 990…very bad bad thing. Shame on Samsung! And…talking about the camera…well…we all know that exists a thing called “Huawei P40 Pro Plus”. By far the BEST of the BEST for still photography.
The “color science” of Note 20 Ultra is still very imperfect. In many situation we have wrong white balance and wrong color saturation and over sharpening. Video still lacks a decent stabilization. And what to say about the zoom over 10x?
No…seriously. Samsung is still MILES AWYAY from a good and serious shooter with a decent color science.

After almost an entire decade using Sammy, I’m jumping ship to iPhone. I have the note 9, and galaxy watch and just love them, but Sammy software just isn’t polished to the level as apple software is. My whole family has iPhones, and am kinda jelly about how they can airdrop, FaceTime, and seamless integration into iPads, and just about a more overall polished experience.

If i’m joe blow nobody who lives paycheck to paycheck and i’m one paycheck away from my 🌰🌰 being buried in the sand and not being able to fight like a natural man. It may not be worth the $1300.

Why do we need such big phones? I want the new camera but an option to have a more compact design, not a tablet in my pocket… which would help with the costs (maybe)

    • Andromeda Sirius

      August 19, 2020 at 10:43 pm

I am using an iPhone xs
While it’s so compact and nice
You loose out on the screen which is really importantit really makes a difference when you watching or playing games
Even when you try to read something you miss the big screen
      So that’s why
Also smaller phone meansuch smaller battery

    • James Drissel

      August 20, 2020 at 4:23 am

Rotating that bump 90 degrees and moving it closer to the center of the phone would have fixed the rocking problem while also leaving space for the s-pen on the right and maybe a little more room for battery or heavens forbid, a headphone jack.

I wonder if I am going to hate the camera bulge or the left-side stylus. I am going to get it even though I think it is overpriced, but my Note 8 is on its last legs and I do not think it will make it another year. I wish the could have fixed the Note 7, it was awesome, though fatally flawed, and the Note 10 model that I would have preferred over spending the $ on the 20 Ultra is no longer available. I keep my phones a while. I skipped the Note 5, 9 and 10, but have bought the others. I already have over half a terabyte on my phone so small memory and/or no expandable storage are non-starters for me.

I see that you are taking your victory lap for helping to kill off the 100x zoom. I own the s20 ultra. I use the 100x zoom and for that reason I won’t be buying this phone. I usually buy a new note every year.

It appears that you are now trying to kill off 50x.

  65. 웅이

    August 21, 2020 at 5:41 pm

Let’s see…. let me school these so called journalists who get paid to provide a balanced view.
First, no it’s not 1300 dollars.
When you take advantage of trade ins and other promos, you pay much less.
Second, consider who this phone is for and allocate the value accordingly. Meaning, if you are someone who is looking to upgrade to a new phone after not upgrading for years, then just simply divide the final price of the phone by the number of months you’ll get usage out of it. If you end up paying 1000 dollars and you’ll own it for 3 years, that’s just 27 dollars per month. You’ll spend more on Netflix and coffee than you will on the Note 20 Ultra ok.
Or if you are a “phone person” who has to have the newest phone every year, then you obviously have your priorities straight and can afford to do that. So 1300 dollars is nothing.
Third, considering that the iPhone X back in 2017 was a thoudand bucks, really do you feel that 1300 for a flagship phone in 2020 is too much really?
After reading this comment if you still think the phone is too much then this phone is not for you. Just move along.
