Charity ≠ Communism. They still decide their own salaries as a company and can still fail if people decide to stop buying their products.

The company is still making profit, and still privately owned, still competes in a market, voluntarily shifted to this kind of model without any state-enforced decision, where is the communism?

Meanwhile, psychopath overlords are using AI to control the world. I recently caught Google AI lying about the third leading cause of death. Today I heard about an Israeli government generated AI that turned and squealed on its masters. I could love AI that doesn’t lie for the psychopath overlords. This goddess could give pointers to AI.

i used to sit there watching how some people just had this effortless pull. they didn’t even try, but everyone noticed them. i thought it was just something you were born with. then i read this ebook, Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki, and it explained exactly why some people have it and others don’t. it’s not luck, it’s energy. after making a few small shifts, i saw the difference. it’s crazy how much changes when you actually understand what’s going on.

for the longest time, i felt like i was just existing while other people had something i didn’t. i kept wondering what made them stand out. then i read this ebook, Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki. it’s not some generic self-help stuff, it actually breaks down the unseen energy behind attraction. i didn’t realize how much i was pushing people away without even knowing it. this book showed me how to change that.

one day i realized no one really paid attention to me. no matter what i did, i felt invisible. i tried changing how i dressed, how i spoke, but nothing worked. then i found this ebook, Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki. it wasn’t about faking confidence, it was about shifting my energy. after applying what it teaches, i started seeing people respond to me differently. not overnight, but in a way that felt real.

i used to think being attractive was all about looks. then i met someone who wasn’t traditionally good-looking but had this presence that made people gravitate toward them. i needed to understand why. that’s when i found this ebook, Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki. it explains attraction on a deeper level, beyond appearances. after making the changes it teaches, people started reacting to me differently in ways i never expected.

If one thing has become clear this season, finding the right talent for your team isn’t as easy as picking from a pile of resumes This week’s guest is Leah Solivan, the founder of Taskrabbit and now an early-stage investor who has seen that the power to change a homogenous startup exosystem comes from empowering diverse VCs to fund underrepresented founders who will hire the hidden tech talent.

From bootstrapping TaskRabbit on credit cards to scaling it into one of the defining companies of the gig economy, Leah learned firsthand that the hardest part of building a company isn’t the product, it’s selecting the right people to build it.

In this episode, Isabelle Johannessen and Leah unpack what it really takes to build diverse teams from day one and why most companies get it wrong by waiting too long. They also explore how the lack of diversity in venture capital directly shapes who gets funded, and ultimately, who gets hired.

Apply to Startup Battlefield: We are looking for early-stage companies that have an MVP. So nominate a founder (or yourself): techcrunch.com/apply. Be sure to say you heard about Startup Battlefield from the Build Mode podcast.

TechCrunch Disrupt: If you’re thinking about applying to Startup Battlefield, then October 13 to 15 in San Francisco, we’re back for TechCrunch Disrupt, where the Startup Battlefield 200 takes the stage. So if you want to cheer them on, or just network with 1000s of founders, VCs, and tech enthusiasts, then grab your tickets.

Use code buildmode15 for 15% off any ticket type.

01:20 From engineer to Taskrabbit founder
03:39 The moment that sparked Taskrabbit
07:39 Why building teams is the hardest part
12:06 Learning how to hire from scratch
17:36 Why venture capital lacks diversity
27:25 How to build diverse teams from day one

New episodes of Build Mode drop every Thursday. Hosted by Isabelle Johannessen. Produced and edited by Maggie Nye. Audience development led by Morgan Little. Special thanks to the Foundry and Cheddar video teams.
