    1. People don’t “prefer” the FB engagement alg, they “prefer” defaults as EC points out. Users don’t change defaults, that’s been shown again and again in user research.
    2. I’m betting Bickert is dissembling with what she calls concern about “safety” and isn’t counting mental health in child safety. Her past roles gear her towards physical safety not mental health.
    3. Surveys are a weak research tool, at least directly asking people what they think. Especially asking minors what they think vs observing behavior over time. If that’s Bicker’t basis for the benefit of FB, then there is no evidence.
