Those range extenders are all terrible. Just use a mesh network.

Extenders can be a little disappointing but not everyone can afford a mesh network. Pick a decent Extender & coverage can be great.

I just switched to eero and all my wifi issues were gone, zero dead spots.
I just don’t recommend eero for people who love playing /messing/modifying with routers settings.

Do not recommend any of these range extenders. This video failed to explain that you will loose half of your bandwidth with each extender you add. Also, there is a reason these extenders are this cheap, it’s because they are cheap and security and firmware updates are not on the top priority. There are way better alternatives and being each house is different I would recommend you hire a certified tech like myself, sorry for the self plug, and have a review done of your house and you can see from heat map where the best spots are to place equipment and how many AP’s are needed.

I need something that can get through a couple of walls of concrete. I’m renting a set of wifi pods from my provider that is working well, but I pay a monthly fee for it. I’d really like to buy something outright, but I need to find something that’s just as powerful.

Since your main router is a Netgear one, I have to mention this amazing extender I personally use: EX6110.
It is incredibly small, or as we like to say Tiny but Mighty, up to AC1200, can do dual bands, but my recommendation, and the standout feature it has, is this option called Fast Lane, where it basically uses one band to connect to the router, and the other to broadcast out to its area, and I get amazing speeds that way, almost as fast as the source router, with little to no dropped connections, and that way I kept the main router broadcasting dual bands for older devices. I have it set up to receive on 2.4 and broadcast 5GHz, as I have a lot of concrete walls and this setup was the best for my home. And it was very affordable, $75 in its highest price, I got it at $50.

If you have a one story floor plan, just get a router the speed double your square footage.
