Nobody cares about the wireless charging outside of USA

      September 1, 2020 at 11:15 am

Pretty much, I would’ve never used it anyways as it’s bad for the battery in the long run

@Shrumz I’ve been using wireless charging on my phones for years with no problems whatsoever.

@T. Daniels It depends how long you plan on keeping your phone, if you plan on switching it after a year, year and a half or max 2, then it’ll be alright, but if you want your battery to last more than that then wireless charging isn’t recommended.. I just don’t see the point and personally wouldn’t use it at the cost of a battery life (not too big of an issue to just plug the charger in instead)

      September 1, 2020 at 1:40 pm

@Shrumz I’m concerned more about wearing out the USB-C port on a phone than losing battery capacity. I keep my phones for at 2 years and I had my last one for 3 1/2 before upgrading and the capacity has always been fine. But, yeah, it does depend on your specific use case as to whether wireless charging is useful to you or not. I work in an office and I have a wireless charger on my desk that I use every day. I think phone batteries are good enough that you don’t really need to worry about how you charge them. Charge it however you want and it will still last for years. And that’s how it should be.

@T. Daniels I usually keep my phones for about 2 and a half years and never had a problem with wearing out a port, but I suppose wireless chargers can be pretty convenient at work.. + you can always have your battery replaced if it starts lasting too short but ultimately it comes down to the personal preference anyway

Good phone but ruined by lack of headphone jack, go for a Zenfone 6 or ROG 2 instead if u really want ASUS.

Just because it’s not released in the US, it’s not a bad phone. Price converted to us dollars from euros? That’s just wrong. It’s not how it’s done

It’s illogical, why no jack if it’s not waterproof however? Why not FM radio? Disappointing 🙁

    • andyH_England

It is 2020 and the market is removing the jack in flagships as it prepares for the future, a wireless phone. There is simply no proof that having a jack is what most consumers want or need but the stellar sales of wireless buds is proof positive as to where the market is heading and it is made possible by the demand creating a new tech that is innovating exponentially. The jack is dead in flagships; in mid to low cost a jack is useful as the users are unlikely to be able to afford buds. I use USB-C headphones and really wonder what the fuss is with the jack dying? No FM radio, another feature that is going extinct, what with music apps or streaming there really is little need for FM Radio anymore.

for upgrade from zenfone 6 i think this is okay with the increased price. if u really care about selfie camera and fullscreen view. this the only choice. plus if u want different look from other phone.
