It’s the genius approach that openai took that made it so great. They knew q&a format was a root source. They knew a simplified and bs-free interface was irresistible to interact with, allowing them to scope the massive dataset to data that humans actually care about foremost – categorizing it, filtering it. This is why you see the other big names trying everything they can to push out their own version of a chatgpt. They need mass user interactions for rlhf. The geniuses over at openai are certainly of a different breed; like they could see the future or something. Just incredible. Also why apple is 100% bluffing here. Just look at gemini, born of the company that everyone thought would surly be the leading party; what did they come later at? Rlhf. It’s missing and they have been grappling with it; the recent news is an indicator of an unrefined model, not ‘woke’. And unless someone cracks the self-learn problem anytime soon, this is the only move… it’s most likely far away though.

Why even buy an iPhone when Apple is putting more google apps in it. Just buy a pixel or Samsung phone.

what makes this bad is that gemini is not that good yet.. . I would expect an ai assistant from apple to be groundbreaking and not something as undercooked as we currently have

  15. @andyYoutubeEmail

    March 22, 2024 at 4:48 pm

Didn’t Samsung just do this as well? Then again in their case they plan on charging everyone I believe next year once they get comfortable with the service.

  16. @joelface

    March 22, 2024 at 4:56 pm

I suspect that Apple has their own models that are far more focused on iPhone integration, Apple ecosystem integration, with smooth and consistent results. However, I suspect they’ve found areas where Gemini performs better.. perhaps in some small but significant ways. I would guess that Apple is interested in using Gemini only in those specific instances to bolster their own ai, rather than to simply copy-paste the Android ai into the iPhone as is.

  20. @kurtinreno5601

  22. @chrluc

    March 22, 2024 at 7:39 pm

If this turns out to be true, there has been a very serious misstep or miscalculation at Apple. If resources were diverted away to something else that caused Apple not to be ready to play ball with the big boys, this will hurt for a very long time. I absolutely do not trust Google with my data, and I trust their AI model even less. It has already proven to be incorrect and have a very strong programmed in bias.

  23. @beachbumsailordude

    March 22, 2024 at 7:39 pm

I think going forward you are going to see customers head more toward privacy oriented phones and not Apple, Samsung and the like. All the AI is just too invasive. IPhones are already horribly invasive (client side scanning to name just one thing). The Iphone I own now is my first Iphone and it just might be my last.

  31. @keithfield

    March 23, 2024 at 12:11 am

Apple has already lost the AI race. AI is going to realign platforms by putting Google, Apple and even Microsoft in the rearview mirror. It’s time for new players like Openai, Perplexity, Anthropic and the huge community of open source AI companies to plant their flags! The old monopolies have finally met their match. It’s time for a change of guard, new innovators and new approaches to building Inteligent platforms. I for one, can’t wait!

  32. @Shukz123

    March 23, 2024 at 12:33 am

Im assuming Apple will incorporate AI features to Siri (they desperately need it since it’s the weakest voice assistant out there)

    • @shashankdegloorkar

No they cant most of the Siri responses are web results ” heres what i found on the web”

  33. @deatonsmusic

Not into this idea. Apple needs their own AI, not Google or ChatGPT.

  34. @ramakrishnannagarajan2100

    March 23, 2024 at 1:22 am

Gemini is already available in the Google app in the iPhone, so unless it’s deeply integrated into the core OS and remains within the device, I don’t see a need

  35. @JackTheBlack1585

    • @shashankdegloorkar

same in India. The last ” I ” is not pronounced as “eye”

  39. @Wassup-Doc

What should happen as instead of Google giving Apple technology Apple should be forced to open up the virtual assistant default settings so that we can change whatever we like

  40. @BetterWorld0

    March 23, 2024 at 6:24 am

Y’all speculators should know Apple is always late to the party and when they release it’s massively adopted and welcomed. Meta Quest etc are great they’ve been out for a while never made that much buzz. Here comes $4k Apple Pro Vision Pro and everyone went crazy
Imagine if they made it affordable. Trillion dollar company with billions in cash and faddish to work for and own their products, is behind on A.I ?? Yeah ok 😂

  41. @rukiddingme7

    March 23, 2024 at 6:51 am

Maybe Apple is approaching Google, OpenAI and others, so that, Apple will not be facing another feature that is Anti-Trust complaint. I suspect, Apple’s version is superior but cannot be the only AI on the iPhone. Most of us will use Apple’s version over the competitors. Apple is just collecting money.

  42. @joevega24_

    wow

  43. @TristenHernandez

    March 23, 2024 at 8:25 am

I’m worried about the wealthiest company on earth. If they don’t start innovating or at least catch up soon things will be going down hill soon. They can’t even fix the voice assistant it’s getting worse!

  44. @juanwilliams3423

    March 23, 2024 at 9:37 am

Put it in the software update

  45. @shashankdegloorkar

    March 23, 2024 at 9:54 am

Google should just keep away from Apple, for short term gains. its like trading a player to other team so that the game is balanced. take the win where you can. I hate samsung sells the displays to Apple. i know its business and everyone is trying to make money. but the competitor is not worth trusting.

  46. @brendanfogel4573

If this was apples ai, nobody would have it

  47. @Jsztke

    March 23, 2024 at 12:04 pm

Yeah google pixel either gets iMessage or this might kill the phone.

  49. @inknoidrobot1227

    March 23, 2024 at 3:08 pm

I feel very good about this whole business venture. As we should look at the bigger scale of things. Microsoft has teamed up with open AI and Mustafa silliman of inflections PI. So that means that there is some very tough competition out there. So apple is making a very wise move. Then Google has Gemini and has teamed up with anthropics Claude 3. Who has beaten Gemini and GPT 4. So it’s time for things to get a little spicy out there now with more seasoning and flavor. As mishaps may occur but thats life. Now it’s time to loosen up out there and get a little wild.

  50. @franciscoramirez2068

    March 23, 2024 at 7:03 pm

Gemini is better then chatgbt. Remember Gemini is self learning and connect to the world web while chatgbt learns only from what it’s been fed at the past and present time. At least that’s why I learned.

  51. @ThexBorg

    March 24, 2024 at 12:22 am

Apple has YouTube deal for a decade. Had Google Maps until Apple Maps arrived. Google AI is an interim AI step, iAI…. 🤣

  52. @ThexBorg

    March 24, 2024 at 12:24 am

if Apple iAI can take advantage of the Apple Neural Engine on their chip it could make a difference.

  53. @anb4351

    March 24, 2024 at 12:53 am

Apple sheeps should just get Android. It already has Gemini in it, and it’s just as good if not better than ChatGPT

  54. @anb4351

    March 24, 2024 at 12:53 am

In Android, Google Assistant is already using Gemini as it’s voice assistant, and it’s just as good if not better than ChatGPT

  55. @stuartbrown1569

    March 24, 2024 at 2:07 am

I used Gemini, a couple of days ago, it didn’t just give me a single solution, it’s first answer didn’t understand what I was saying. But it caught on with the second chat, a week before, I used copilot a week before, it was more creative. Some science fantasy elements and poetry, about renewable energy and sustainable transport, I succeeded in turning 2 eleven page stories into 80 pages, but it couldn’t get it from inside the computer, to inside the computer. It took 3 days and used a fraction, of the resources, that I provided, very little fast short term and long term memory and little CPU, even though there is 16 TOPS, of AI architecture in My chip.

  56. @knightone57

    March 24, 2024 at 6:59 am

  57. @jdavid50

We desperately need a new smartphone company. Google and Apple are both trash.

  58. @aliettienne2907

    March 24, 2024 at 10:23 am

6:58 If Apple is eyeing Google Gemini that means that Gemini is very effective at what it does. All I can say is that the best will be sort after and the best will be the most useful. Apparently Gemini is more accurate at its generative work and it probably has a diversity of capabilities. Well let’s wait and see what is Apple decision because I firmly believe that Ai capability will be the attraction on all devices. Ai will be the engine to create new commodities. 😎💯💪🏿👍🏿

Mess = good camouflage for blinds. There won’t be any physical buildings in the year 2100 (or very few at least). Only projected high-tech optical shields to hide your nakedness and keep in the heat/ac.

  61. @user-mu2mj8qn1k

    March 24, 2024 at 4:02 pm

Yet the pixel 8 misses out on Gemini due to hardware limitations??? currently using the pixel 8 the hype was very short-lived this will probably be my last Google device very disappointed with Google.

  62. @kennethuyabeme

    March 24, 2024 at 8:41 pm

Last point about Apple possibly making the company it choices as its “GenAI” partner the most popular model could be key. They could lowkey be the king makers of the AI war and make money while doing it.
