Weber’s smart pellet grill holds its own against Traeger
We obviously had to grill and eat lots of delicious food for science. Witness our noble sacrifice. The Weber SmokeFire EX6 is a $1,200 pellet grill. We make a variety of foods to see if the price is worth it, even for a novice cook. We also compare it to the standard-bearer of pellet grills,…

I have an EX4 and only use it for low and slow, while the classic weber kettle is my go-to for things like steaks and burgers. Very good product when you periodically check the hopper to ensure the pallets don’t get backed up (every 3-4 hours or so). Also, you pinched the probes by not routing near the right door hinge. It should also be noted that Weber has an outstanding warranty and an empowered support team if/when issues do arise. Fun review!

Not enough info on this review. You need to review how easy or difficult is to clean ashes. Yes they do cumulate over time and eventually need to be cleaned. I have traeger and this sucks when I have to do that. Campchef has cool ash drain on the bottom so looked way easier to clean.

@PSYCHO well I’m not really sure. I didn’t use anything else besides Traeger. I do believe pellet grill is definitely the best way for maintenance and taste. It is much more expensive but 100% worth it. You can not compare the taste to gas grills. I saw campchef model after about 1yr of use on my traeger and it looked better than mine. Campchef had 1 burner gas grill attached to the side for searing and easy access bottom ash tray for cleaning. However new traeger models now offer more insulation that you can use in winter time. I don’t know if same goes for Campchef and this Weber.

I love Weber but I went with a Pit Boss which was half the price and didn’t have the unfortunate flaws of the Weber.

Buy a Grilla. Made in Holland MI. If you ever have issues you actually get to talk to an American that actually wants to help you and has the knowledge to do so. Also better quality and a little less money.
