Rather a truly good picture like the LG CX

8K is just so pointless. A red tailed hawk holding an electron microscope right up to the screen wouldn’t be able to make out individual pixels.

I’ve yet to hear a convincing argument for a domestic 8K TV.

Use as a monitor until 65″ or go wall-size

    come with backdoor for free?

all I wanted was for them to add hdmi 2.1 to the 2020 6 series, not add 8k to likely jack up the price

8k no matter how you slice it, is worth it at 85″ and above. Whether there is 8k content or not.

      January 11, 2021 at 9:31 pm

Less than 1.25H height view distances

    • Edwin Hernandez

      January 11, 2021 at 11:23 pm

@Bruno George Moraes well I sit about 9 ft from my 75″ 4k television and I’m pretty sure I can see the benefit of getting an 85″ 8K set because I can make out the pixels from my viewing distance.

      January 12, 2021 at 12:05 am

@Edwin Hernandez Test patterns help identify if what you see is normal acuity or Vernier acuity.

When 16k are common, you will still have trouble finding 8k content, as worthless as one of those 3D TV’s.

    • Alex Hein

      January 12, 2021 at 1:15 am

16k is coming out like in 2030

  9. Lance Heaps

    January 11, 2021 at 6:45 pm

Exactly right I would only buy 8K at 85 inch sizes and above.

  10. Jacob d

    January 11, 2021 at 6:57 pm

Not interested in 8k on anything smaller than 90 inches and I’m good with the 80 inch ive got what I’d like is something with double the refresh rate and multiple hdmi 2.1 instead of 3 that are useless 30 fps????‍♂️

  11. Øystein

    January 11, 2021 at 7:03 pm

Well.. YouTube is a 8K source???? Not much 8K and it’s compressed anyway so????

  12. Verse

    January 11, 2021 at 7:18 pm

If it doesn’t support proper dedicated gaming features then I won’t even consider that tv.

  13. Kapil Verma

    January 11, 2021 at 8:03 pm

8k telecast in india would come after 50 year from now

  14. Shawn Appenzeller

    January 11, 2021 at 8:38 pm

Why don’t you actually improve the 4K before moving on it’s like we never catch up and have no content

  15. Chris Chris

    January 11, 2021 at 9:18 pm

    8K not needed
    2.1 Hdmi 120 FPS is !!!!
    ❤️ TCL

120 or 240hz is better MeanOpinionScore return for the trouble than 8k.

    i still only have 1080p ><

This push to 8k makes no sense to me. The 8k tv out now run so hot and suck so much power since the backlight has to be so much brighter. There’s zero 8k content not to mention 4K is not even main stream yet. Samsung’s 4K TVs have better picture then there 8k. I can see starting to push 8k in another 5 years once 85 plus size tv are more main stream.

    January 11, 2021 at 10:16 pm

Question will there be a tcl tv with 4K 120 fps?

  20. Victor Hernandez

    January 11, 2021 at 10:22 pm

    i just want hdmi 2.1 that support 4k 120hz

  21. V R

    January 11, 2021 at 10:48 pm

Real life doesn’t even look like that smh
But …. at least it has the support stand in the center

Love how they compare 4K and 8K by making 4K look pixelated and blurry, it’s 4K!
