TVs are no like mobiles you change every 2 years. For me the Best TV for 2020 is LG BX.
=:Mustang:=
December 15, 2020 at 11:50 pm
Ah the LG tvs are good and 2 years later you will need to either change em, or get a TV box setup because it’s software gets obsolete pretty fast.

I honestly do not think anyone should buy th tcl, even for the money! Save up a bit extra, and buy the lg bx, or a sony a9 or a8 series. I have had bad experiences with both Tcl and hisense. And strongly believe you will be happier with the sony or lg. If those oleds are too oricey. There is only 1 tv that rules them all, *for the price* the sony 950h. Google it! And! If you can find one. And u do buy it, please come back and let me know how happy you are 😁👍🏻 p.s i aint a sony pony, or lg fanboy. But, before i bought tv, i really wanted a tv. And these tvs all ticked the boxes, hdmi 2.1, 4k hdr, and have extremely good support even till the time of writing this in december 2020

I just got a 49” (43.5” actual screen width) LG Nanocell 85 at Best Buy for $499.99 just a few days ago in store.
4k @120Hz. Online, it still show $599.99, but in the store i went to, it was $100 off so I guess it just hasn’t been updated online. Thankfully, Best Buy price matches. Can’t wait for it to come in!

Nice TV but I’d take a hisense H9G over this. This one has black crush issues and I prefer Google TV over Roku.
huderry
December 15, 2020 at 3:15 pm
@greysymphonyearth Yeah at first I bought an open box from Best Buy for $630 bc they were all out of stock and it didn’t come with a stand. So I returned it and found the deal on walmart. If you’re looking for one definitely keep your eye on walmart
greysymphonyearth
December 15, 2020 at 3:29 pm
@huderry my brother just bought a 65 inch R635 for over 1000 dollars from Walmart and I got my H9G for 950 from best buy. Again you got a great deal but these TV’s aren’t usually 200 dollars apart.

December 15, 2020 at 5:05 pm
Well, the Hisense doesn’t have 1440p at 120Hz or VRR or a THX game mode. So this is better if you are going to be playing games
greysymphonyearth
December 15, 2020 at 5:14 pm
@Siddharth RS it does have 1440p at 120hz. I run my Xbox like that all the time.
Siddharth RS
December 15, 2020 at 6:24 pm
For real? I picked the TCL for this very reason. I remember checking all the reviews and even the rtings resolution specifications. I even asked a question on the Amazon product page and someone from Hisense said that wasn’t supported

If you are playing on console there is no point in worrying about hdmi 2.1 when barely any games will be able to run that this generation

I’m not a TV snob anymore (I thought I needed a samsung or LG which I used to have). I realized I just need something sharp enough to stream. I have 3 TCL’s in the house. I love them all.

Bought about 5 LCD/LED TVs so far. I only buy the cheapest ones available, and 3 of them died. Two of them had the faulty backlight issue, and couldn’t use them anymore unless I replace the backlight LEDs that cost as much as a new TV. In the future, I’ll buy Samsung or LG, because I heard they make the best TVs.

Try Toshiba before you jump to more expensive brand names. They have really great sound bars inbuilt in addition to great video quality.

The 55 is only 649.99 but it sold out on Amazon and Best Buy. Other retailers are selling for around 7-800. I’m waiting to snag it for 649. It’s a steal at that price.

Just before the middle of this year (2020), I bought the 55″ model of this TV for my disabled wife. We had a 39″ TV in the bedroom and she was having trouble seeing some of the details and making out words on the screen. When I measured the space we had, the 55″ was the largest we could fit along the wall opposite the bed, where the previous TV had been, so that’s what I went with. Although she was not bedridden, my wife did not get around THAT well. She had a number of medical issues and was frequently in pain, so TV was a great distraction for her. She could lose herself in her shows and forget her medical issues for a while. I would set up pillows for her to use like a recliner, as she watched TV from her side of the bed. We called it her nest. She spent almost all her time in bed, when not going to doctor appointments, and watching TV was her favorite activity by FAR.
This TV is everything David here says it is and more. My soulmate and the love of my life passed away, suddenly and unexpectedly, on the 21st of September, 2020, just over three weeks after her 38th birthday and a week after our 18th wedding anniversary. A couple weeks before she died, she was telling me how much she liked her new TV. She actually told me it was “perfect” and told me I was her hero. Her telling me that made me cry, as I knew how much she watched it and how important it was to her quality of life. Thank you TCL, for making my wife’s last days on this Earth happier and more easy to endure.

Don’t forget to get Dolby atmos speakers and a uhd Blu-ray player. Streaming isn’t as good as a 4K uhd disc.

This TV is 900 plus tax without even trying to find a deal, the 65 cx is 1700 on its best day at greentoe. Let’s also not forget that if you do go with the LG your life will never be the same… everything else will look like a turd and it will drive you crazy as it does me. This TCL is great for the price and won’t make you a snob.

I have two roku tvs. A 6 and a 5 series. The interface is just too slow. It takes like 5 seconds to change inputs and there’s no button to just switch inputs you have to press the home button and wait for everything to load before you can switch. It kinda sucks.
