Fold-A-Phone FAQ: Why Aren’t We Randomizing The Folds?
Although we would love to account for every possible use case, doing so along these lines would have drastically increased the development time and complexity of the project for very little measurable gain. Perhaps we can explore more varied interaction methods if/when the Fold-a-Phone 2 test is on our development docket. Host: CNET Labs Director,…

iPhone Duo Livestream: How Many Folds Can Apple’s Phone Take? Day 3 – Part 2
We had a litlte power crash so had to restart our video encoder. Apple’s iPhone Duo is out and we want to see how durable it is. So we built a robot to fold it 20,000+ times a day to test its limits. How long do you think it will last? 100,000 folds? 200,000 folds?…

Why is a touchscreen valuable on a MacBook?
Plot twist: in the next version, you can actually detach the screen and use it like an iPad.

Low value but high price tag 😅😅 Apple Intelligence 😊

Touch screen is such a bad idea. I don’t want at all snypne including me poking into the screen and left these fingerprint oil spots or anything else
@shanet7511
October 28, 2026 at 4:56 pm
@DavidTchThen dont use it I guess, whats the problem with choice?
@shanet7511
October 28, 2026 at 4:57 pm
Because sometimes I just wanna touch the screen instead of fiddling with a mouse pad or mouse
@DavidTch
October 28, 2026 at 4:59 pm
@shanet7511fact that it exists there adds cost 💲

Windows laptop have touchscreen since 2011 😂😂
@LuccaKhoury
October 28, 2026 at 4:14 pm
@AndreVictorGoncalves MacBooks didn’t have touchscreen before bc Steve Jobs never wanted a MacBook to have touchscreens, he said that touchscreens are for iPads
@Qwert817-r2h
October 28, 2026 at 4:18 pm
Yea nobody like it😅
@AndreVictorGoncalves
October 28, 2026 at 4:22 pm
@LuccaKhouryThen explain why they are doing it now? They spent over a decade saying that touchscreen in laptops doesn’t make sense and the mouse is the better interface. And suddenly now they changed their mind?
@LuccaKhoury
October 28, 2026 at 4:26 pm
@AndreVictorGoncalves I think is because they don’t wanted to fall behind others or make it cheaper. Because the MacBook Pro is clearly the most powerful laptop now, but it still didn’t have a touchscreen
@AndreVictorGoncalves

@Qwert817-r2h Then why is apple copying a feature that nobody likes?? It doesn’t make sense lol

Apple is so cutting edge, it has created since a new mind blowing technology – a laptop with built-in touchscreen!😮 Even the techno influencers cannot learn how to use it correctly since it is so mind blowing tech!🤣😱👍👽. Thinner screen, Apple logo lites up again and much lighter too!😮
Got to buy it or else!😮 Must have if you do heavy duty stuff like browsing the internet, reading e-mail!🙂
Now, people can flex like crazy!😁🤣😎🫶

Does that mean all Mac’s have touch screen drivers now?
@Ghost818-x8c
October 28, 2026 at 4:47 pm
So then the idea of putting a iPad with a keyboard is a waste, why would they do that when they now add a touch screen. The defeats the purpose of a iPad in the first place
@danireddy0
October 28, 2026 at 6:56 pm
@Ghost818-x8c this is much more expensive? It doesn’t defeat the entire purpose as the ipad only comes with a base processor.

Ipad is was more light and portable, you cant detach the screen from the macbook and you cant flip it around.
Also no apple pencil support until now.
The Ipad is so thin and light and way cheaper

Fascinating that they didn’t pair it with the M6 chip. I’ll wait for it to have the best chip and atleast a 16 inch screen before I drop a few grand on one. Preferably an 18 inch screen tho.
@Mach1n-is-at-lvl-60
October 28, 2026 at 4:58 pm
it has 16 inch, m5 pro is faster than m6, m6 pro is not out
@Abarofsoap1234
October 28, 2026 at 8:14 pm
@shanet7511 at that point just get a monitor bro
@Txxlln
October 28, 2026 at 9:11 pm
@Mach1n-is-at-lvl-60
Depends, M6 has faster single core than m5 pro and max so in some tasks its faster.
Also more efficient

Any improved cooling? Solid state cooling instead of fans?
@masterdebater6518
October 28, 2026 at 8:57 pm
they should put the m6 in this thinner macbook pro chassis and put those solid-state coolers in them replacing the fan system that they would probably still need for m5 max and m5 pro
@GTeK13

Hoping that they would at least address ergonomics
@alexanderfazel
October 28, 2026 at 9:01 pm
They did. The hinge is unique, allowing little flex when tapping and the Dynamic Island is great. Touch screen is inherently not as ergonomic on a laptop. Physics

PSA: there are no M6 Pro and Max chips coming. You will see M7 base mid next year and Apple will skip to M7 Pro and Max a year from now. M5 Pro and Max are plenty powerful.
