I like these devices but maybe calling them glasses turns people off as they don’t function as glasses in the traditional sense. Maybe calling them personal HUDS would temper expectations and welcome acceptance of these different form factors. They are to be used sparingly and not as an all day device.

@noyu8 you forgot to realize which kind of technology is in it … it’s expensive to produce something like this… I think 2000$ are expensive too… but for this product in this stadium it’s okay. It isn’t an mass market product, it’s more an developer kit what you can own and a great option for companies to upgrade their HoloLens 😵💫
But yes… it’s expensive but not for this what it is.

These look great on you Scott. The one design flaw is that the dont have a USB-C port and the tip of the left stem like their Spectacles 24′ dev version, makes it easier to hide a power bank cable.

4:45 honestly they are really good looking for a period of time to wear outdoors. Used for work meetings solely as a presentation tool. At museums or social forum events where there’s presentation. To do the AI and scan faces identifying people that’s all the problem parts.

I’m blind, but I still think this is a cool proof of concept! I think glasses, And other form factors like this, combined with screen reading software will be really beneficial for people like me. Meta has already done something similar with their Display glasses – the glasses essentially tell you what you are interacting with via audio as you “touch it” with your hands. Definitely something worth keeping an eye on.
Also, you guys should try reviewing the Echo Vision smartglasses from Agiga. They are smartglasses specifically designed for the blind/visually impaired.

There’s more general interest in VR headsets by the public than AR glasses, but silicon valley and antisocial geeks are obsessed with creating the AR dystopia in sci-fi movies.
