This speaker took on gerrymandering in her state — and won! #TEDTalks
You don’t need political power to make real change, says activist Katie Fahey. She tells the story of how she led a successful movement in Michigan to end gerrymandering — the practice of drawing district lines to favor one political party — and how it all started with a simple social media post.

The Problem with Streaming — and the Case for Physical Media | Tom Rizzuto | TED
Streaming media gives us access to everything instantly — but at what cost? Music professor Tom Rizzuto traces the history of physical media — from CDs and vinyl to bone music (Soviet-era records pressed onto discarded X-rays) and the near-loss of “Nosferatu” — making the case that art shouldn’t just live in the cloud. (Recorded…

Extremely important message. I had different beliefs 20 years ago from today. Criticizing me as a “whacko” among other things, wasn’t what made me change my mind. The insults did exactly this, and pushed me further from wanting to have any kind of productive conversations with anybody who I disagreed with.

What if the very thing that fuels those who believe in “conspiracy theories” isn’t belonging or some kind of external reward? What if their primary motive really is the pursuit of truth and those who ridicule them are the ones who value tribalism, emotion and ego over what is real? Given the number of “conspiracies theories” of the past that are considered true today, it may be wise for us to listen more closely to those we’ve convinced ourselves are on the fringe. Who knows? We may discover that we’re the ones out of touch with reality and that the people we once thought were out of their minds were actually right all along.

There’s nothing wrong with asking questions in pursuit of the truth. The problems come when people refuse to accept the answers and admit they were wrong. I mean there are people who honestly believe the earth is flat. How much evidence and explanation do you give a person before you can write them off as insane? No, not every position is valid. Some people are just idiots and crazy.

People who claimed that the virus started in a lab in Wuhan were called conspiracy theorists.

I think those people are the ones who started the virus in order to break down the entire world order. In fact, it’s the conspiracy theorists themselves behind everything. They’re the actual illuminati.

Earth is flat and stationary, most important people in the world are fallen angels who can shapeshift into human forns. Blood and children are their currency. All comes from babylon where they perfected idolatry to the last drop of blood. All mountains are petrified giants. Before the great flood there were beings the size of skyscrapers. Elon musk is Werner von braun. Hit me up if you need more fun facts
