That’s a weird question to ask. The simple answer is that it is a reaction to the Far Left Politics that has taken over the rhetorics — and moral highgrounds — over the past decade.
How about we have a TED Talk about the root cause of this:
What’s Behind the Rise of Far Left Politics in the Western World over the Past 10 years?

I feel this talk is made by left parties.
Why are they not talking about car crasching to crowd?? Kinfe attack?? About the EV is it realy readucing the carbon footprints? In my point of view the working class are getting effected more inflation.
And about the job, i see people are not ready to go for job.
People are trying out another option that is it..

It’s simple: Europe’s population density is way higher than its resources and infrastructures. To make the matters worse, there are so many immigrants in Europe which means even less resources. At the same time, techno oligarchs also eating up the public asset (BlackRock for example) and make the middle class and lower middle class poorer in comparison. Helpless, and hopeless people can’t do anything meaningful, so they start blame immigrants, and soon after they go after each other. In the meantime, idealogies that prioritise one group over the other gains more attraction since people feel more justified about their entitlement over the land and its resources. These ideologies are inherently isolationist, and radical, and other qualities of far-right political philosophies. Europe is and will be prone to these ideologies, until the said ratio is somehow balanced which newsflash, even kicking immigrants out will not fix that.

Interesting talk, and I appreciate the data-driven angle. But I’m left with a concern: the framing seems to imply that large groups of right-leaning voters are mainly “insecure” or “captured” by clever narratives. That risks dismissing the real, lived concerns many people have about cost of living, safety, social cohesion, and trust in institutions.
If mainstream or left-leaning parties only offer moral judgment instead of concrete solutions, the gap widens and polarization grows. People don’t want to be told their worries are invalid — they want to feel heard, respected, and protected.
For me, the rise of the far right isn’t just a supply-side story. It’s also the result of long-term policy failures and a lack of credible alternatives that speak to people’s day-to-day realities. Ignoring that weakens democracy more than acknowledging it.
Thought-provoking video, but I wish it grappled more with that side of the equation too.

The rise of the far right isn’t just about immigration — it’s rooted in deeper social and economic insecurities. Reducing it to culture alone oversimplifies a much more complex reality.

Perhaps it is the expansion of the phrase “far right” to include the center right, the actual center, and any on the left who dare speak in perceived criticism of the left? Richard Dawkins was called “far right” by some in the media in the recent past for speaking out of turn in his area of expertise. Frankly, the biggest problem with the far right, is the use of the accusation of “far right” to control discussion making it impossible to point to any particular group or person or in many cases policy discussion as problematically far right. Even this talk recognizes this; the premise is “people don’t believe our accusations of far right” and yet does not address the widespread use of the term particularly over the last half decade.

She’s clueless and lives in a bubble. Ive been a lifelong liberal but the left has moved SO far left in recent years that it’s just labeling everyone that isnt radical leftists as “far right”.
Illegal immigration and the two tier policing of immigrants is clearly driving this divide.
People like this woman are the problem.

It’s always nice to keep an open mind. It seems though no matter what, that those same people who label and criticize “far right” engineered it so that when you hear it, it must be bad. And they never go to the reason why more and more people vote for them. As if “immigration” was the only bad thing. i guess nuance is dead in politics as well as in general. Tribalism is terrible, ideas are great. What if it was not immigration, but immigrants who don’t integrate and respect? Maybe instead of ideologies, the world could run more on common sense, science and greater good.

7:16 – “ we just don’t want to include those who ideologically exclude us” – and what’s wrong with that message?! It’s clear and it’s right. If liberal parties didn’t go far left, they could just take this same idea and use it to attract voters.

the eastern europe is becoming russophobic and the west is openly supporting the far right in ukraine. and now she wonders why the far right is becoming more popular in the west. she also didn’t mention anything about militarization, the LGBT pseudoscience,… it doesn’t look like it has something to do with immigration alone…
