Alex Karp, don’t even pretend you care about people’s privacy or civil rights. It is the ENTIRE FUNCTION of Palantir to watch us all, track us, and look for “crime” before it happens. Palantir is making Minority Report and 1984 happen.
This idea that Alex Karp thinks of himself as a “pagan sacrifice” is WILD. He’s massively rich and influential and he thinks HE’S a sacrifice? LLMs are gutting the jobs he says will be “valuable” even now. This man is fully delusional.

yoo guys wired is not in the wrong or right for performing its function, which is to be a platform for different opinions, views and perspectives. if you hate the some of the guests then just don’t watch, but if you don’t watch how can you critically think about what he is saying and define what exactly you disagree with. by avoiding exposure to worldviews antithetical to urs, you risk locking yourself in an echo chamber and becoming misinformed in turn

I guess Karpp is a difficult person to interview, but Levy did a very poor job. The interview could have been much more interesting, pressure Karp on financial information of Palantir, this turned out to be a monologue of Karp.

Palantir’s whole image as a “data-driven AI company” is such a joke when you look at what they actually do. This is the same firm that helped ICE track immigrants, works hand in hand with intelligence agencies, and builds surveillance systems used by militaries and police around the world. Their software blurs the line between security and mass spying and they never seem too interested in transparency or ethics. Even their co-founder Peter Thiel openly supports the idea of a surveillance state, which pretty much tells you everything about the company’s mindset. It’s wild how they rebranded themselves as some “AI innovator” when they’re basically just turning data mining into a weapon. 😂 wired has been bought.
