My sister and I met Simon and Nick at Awesomecon earlier this year! We did their duo photo op and their eyes lit up when they saw our outfits-
We dressed up as their characters in Hot Fuzz and carried props like the cuddly monkey and the lily plant. We gave them the swan and bad boys 2/ point break movies to hold in the photo.
We met them for their autographs afterwards so they could sign our photo op. Both are really nice and pleasant guys. Definitely one of my favorite con experiences.

Completely agree. When I saw it, I was like this movie is amazing. It’s in my Top 10 all time for me personally, maybe even Top 5. Because I had never seen a movie that basically blended literally every genre so perfectly. It really has a bit of every genre rolled into it, and it’s seamless. Absolutely a classic.

Man, Shaun of the Dead is one of my Top 3 favorite films. It makes me laugh everytime i watch it, and i admire how well directed and written it is. Do you know that thing about Back to the Future, where a lot of dialogs and details get repeated several times in the film, sometimes in 1985, sometimes in 1955. Well, this film takes it further away; i would even say that EACH thing in Shaun of the Dead gets repeated at some point, wether it’s dialogs, or gags, or simple actions. It makes a very “circular” design. (And that without considering the relation to the other films of the trilogy).

It’s been yeaaaaaars since last time I saw Shaun of the Dead (before getting hangovers really) I did not remember that Strawberry Cornetto was a cure to hangover. I might give it a try next time!
And yeah, Absolutely anything is a really fun movie, anyone looking for a fun, light British humor movie should take an evening to watch it.

Saw Simon Pegg this year at Awesome Con, and had a chance to chat with him as well as gifting him a Sean of the Dead pin of himself. Simon confirmed that there was a secret trilogy in Mission Impossible regarding the mask. Ghost Protocol: He complains about not getting to wear a mask. Rogue Nation: He wears a mask, but only in the mission planning (fictional) scenario. Fallout: He wears TWO masks, AND is the only actor to wear a mask in the entire film!

When people ask me what’s any given band’s ‘best’ album I always ask if they mean what I think is their most impactful, culturally significant, or successful, or which is My favorite, as they are seldom the same entry. Shaun of the Dead is a perfect movie and solidified Pegg in my conscience as someone to watch, but the World’s End is just dear to my heart (and the soundtrack is no small part in that).

The Cornetto trilogy makes me so happy every time I watch it. At a very traumatic and dark period of my life, the only movies that helped me at the time were star wars and the cornetto trilogy, especially Shaun of the Dead. Absolutely love Simon Pegg & Nick Frost.

I realize he doesn’t have any lines, but I was really hoping he was going to mention Cuban Fury as one of the movies he’s in with Nick Frost. His cameo in that had me rolling!. If you haven’t seen it, I cannot recommend it highly enough. Nick Frost, Rashida Jones, Chris O’Dowd, Ian MacShane, and Olivia Coleman. An absolute blast.

I got to chat with Simon for a few minutes when he visited Pixar. Can confirm that he’s a nice guy. We mostly talked about our kids.
