Who do you think funds the special needs and IEP programs for kids? What about the research on how the kids are learning and developing compared to other “developed nations”?

Joe Biden Spent many many $Billions that was supposed to bring broadband to the needy. So what happened to all that tax money.

The government doesn’t pay for my internet service. Try your local library. Most have internet service for free.

How exactly are schools going to use their local libraries for Internet access?

Montclaire NJ is an upscale, upper middle class town, close to where I live so I am sure 99% of those kids have broadband at home.

I know that CNET is a tech channel, so I understand your focus on Internet access, but that’s only a small part of what the Department of Education did. This is going to affect poor and disabled students the most. The excuse was that they were sending the power back to the states, but the reality is that a lot of the things that the DoE did are just going to go away now. This wasn’t about the states. It was about cutting the budget to give more money to Trump’s benefactors.

You don’t need internet to teach a child math, reading, or history, etc.. internet is a luxury.

That’s right! Send them to the Libraries! Wait… most are closed or closing due to lack of funding and due to a fall in popularity because of, you know, the internet.

In contrast to that school, consider the poor rural elementary students during the pandemic: families sitting in cars in the parking lot so kids could do homework on their phone 📱 using the school’s wifi.

Why don’t americans get universal internet access for free. They could even achieve that. Do Americans even get anything for free?
