Haha, he just admitted our diplomats are technically incompetent and need training. The diplomats that are, as we speak, making decisions on cybersecurity laws, on implementations of AI. They are illiterate.
The whole thing is a joke. Our government has policies related to using hardware and software that dates back to the 30s (hardware storage rack specs that leave room for vacuum tubes” and the 80s, like depending on a SINGLE anti virus program, nothing else. It’s pathetic and there is a reason out citizens loose billions of dollars to oversea scammers.

I absolutely believe everything Mr Blinken said, especially in the moment when the US administration is sharing it’s technology for more efficient genocide in Palestine, while ignoring international law to the extent it suits the real humans, the USA and it’s alies. The moral of the interview, line between the truth and lie is evaporating, cose the truth is what Mr Blinken says.
I wonder how much Wired got paid for this cute display of great journalism?

The man simply forgets that they are not the spearhead, even if they would like to be. Another fact is that China itself does not have such weak hardware and the fear of some companies like Huawei is really stupid, completely exaggerated. With all due respect, caution, but what they are doing can only be described as oppression. In this context, we are not getting anywhere and nothing will come of it. They have to behave more fairly if they want to be credible… I’ll just say it here quite cheekily, the performance of my last Huawei (P30 Pro) was comparable to my current Google Pixel 6 Pro in terms of system and camera, there are a few years between them, which allows me, among other things, to put forward this opinion and view and leave it as it is. They are simply acting out of fear and suppressing what could be dangerous to them. So it has nothing to do with fair competition.

I’m confused by Garrett’s statement “Last July, of course, the State Department was the one that actually discovered the Chinese intrusion of Microsoft systems.” and then the image they showed of a blue screen at an airport.
Is he talking about the CrowdStrike incident? I thought that was a faulty update that was originally designed to improve the ability to detect new threats. Not an actual Chinese attack.
Or is he talking about something else that happened in July?
Or is this an old interview and he meant July 2023?
@ThisIsTheInternet

China-linked attackers breached the State Department and steal federal data in July 2024. This was due to security flaws in Microsoft products.

China wants to control the world through financial systems and supply chains. The US wants to control the world through technology and software. Whomever is at the forefront gets to set the standard. For example, much like search Google monopolized email by federating which emails can traverse the network. If you don’t play by their rules, their “standard”, then you can’t communicate with 90% of your recipients. This is the future of warfare: having the ability to steer the ship.

Antony Blinken: “Here’s a warning about what we are worried about and what’s currently happening. Here’s what we should do, here’s what we’re trying to do, here’s what we want to do.” Comment section: “I don’t believe Antony Blinken. I don’t trust anything Antony Blinken says” I’ve never seen a more low intelligence comment section in my life. I can’t find one single sentence in this interview that is deniable, biased, or even very much opinionated. Pretty much everything this man said here was either cold fact, or a stance to protect the US and its interests. You people are incredibly daft.

@@patricecomedy I neither trust him nor distrust him. Within the scope of this specific video and its context, what I wrote stands, and I stand by it. Comparatively, I’m certainly not one who makes sweeping blanket judgements, nor am I one to bandwagon, and I’m capable of judging circumstances, people, etc, separately and independent of others. So, I am able to separate that nothing specifically in this video or what he says is inherently suspicious, AND many other things he says or does may be cause for mistrust.
