So at the insistance of the US Govt, ASML has installed a “kill” switch to their EUV machines. This would allow the CIA to shut down the EUV machines in the event the CIA decides that Intel needs some help competiting with TSMC. With friends like this Taiwan doesn’t need enemies.

The kill switch isn’t China’s problem, China has SMIC and their own EUV, ths kill switch is a threat against TSMC should they refuse to transfer all technology to America.
