I love his ideas, but I live in the SOUTH. The idea of helping a black person; even if the federal government would provide the money it would never work down here. Governor Pimp here in Georgia only want to see black men, women, and children in prison.

I find myself more and more often creating conspiracy theories regarding things that are unexplainable, like why would the Western world not fund the future. Are they intending to create dummer populations, easier to control?
But it’s far more likely simply because capitalism.

Will people who get, aid, or abet an abortion have to disclose that on teaching applications? We already know minorities and disabled people are subjected to unfair profiling and discrimination at the hands of law enforcement and as a result may be unable to access teaching jobs they’d be great at… because of currently required application questions.
@JeffroDH

Many of the assertions here are questionable. Parents are the first line. Teachers need to teach. And people’s values drive them toward certain careers. Men are underrepresented in education as a whole.
The justification for making this racial was unconvincing. All teachers need help, but we have to shift cultural values and make parents teach their rotten crotch droppings to value an education and to show some respect.
Let’s avoid balkanizing our nation any further and help all Americans.
@cheebmama
May 15, 2024 at 4:17 pm
I’m deeply disappointed. Everything he said is important. But not one word was brought up to address the NCLB Act and how it forced our education system into a homogenized product of capitalism, worsening outcomes and putting a financial strain on the entire system. Without addressing that, everything he said in the video will do nothing but bring in more teachers who either leave too soon or stay and be miserable. We can do better at talking about this issue than this video.

Government run programs take no risk. When they produce illiterate children, they just get more funding which is squashed at the top administrative level. There’s no incentive for public schools to actually educate children.

Call me crazy, but if there is a true and actual shortage and these people aren’t simply trying to extract money from taxpayers, simply reactivate the expired certificates from people who have an education degree but their certification expired. If no one wants to do that, go ahead, let the schools empty out of teachers I don’t want to hear any more about it.

I’ll fix your problem. Free school is videos kids watch at home, provided by the government. If you want to send your child to a brick and mortar school w/ teachers, you need to pay $5000 per year/ per student. Period. And lower the taxes while you’re at it.

Teachers should feel have a standard of expectation in conduct of students and if there is not, parents can find an alternative way to teach their verbally abusive child. We need to stop expecting teachers to withstand abuse from students and have some expectations of basic respect.

I cannot imagine what teachers have to go through. Can you imagine any other profession having to get buy off from every single patient & parent of a patient in order to do their job or they get in trouble? Can you imagine going into a doctor’s office as a parent that has no idea what they’re talking about and telling the doctor that they prescribe the wrong prescription and you know better? Of course not. The parents and students do this to teachers all the time. You could not pay me enough to be a teacher in the United States.
@davidsamuelson2089
May 16, 2024 at 3:04 pm
It does not help that in the United States, nobody wants to pay teachers, the Republican party is actively trying to shift public education funding for private schools and religious institutions, half the schools aren’t even safe enough, and classrooms are crowded and teachers are expected to be babysitters.
@davidsamuelson2089
May 16, 2024 at 3:06 pm
In the United States, public education is mostly funded by the faulty property tax system. in poor communities, with many vacancies and very little commercial development, there’s no funding for teachers or decent schools. And, the rich communities complain their taxes are too high and are not about to share any of their property tax distribution with schools from poorer communities that desperately need the funds. .

The problem can be fixed without increased funding. Primarily we need a student-to-teacher pipeline. The best way to do this is to have the kid never leave the school. The kid takes classes during his/her junior senior year in the subject they want to teach (as college credits), then they do a two year student teaching (they would get paid), and then have a two year duo-teaching fellowhip until they get licensed. Important: they would never leave the school/district.
