Why get pixel 8a when you can get pixel 8 for around the same price most retailers

    • @aribloch

      May 7, 2024 at 12:13 pm

Pixel 8a comes with $100 gift card for preorder, and likely will be on sale come holiday time

    • @e3vL1

      May 7, 2024 at 12:21 pm

@@aribloch you can get pixel 8 for around $550 (most likely cheaper when pixel 9 series comes out, and during black Friday). Better deal than added $100 gift card in my opinion. They should have thrown in a pixel buds pro or pixel watch instead

    • @PochisMovies

      May 7, 2024 at 3:23 pm

      Where? Everywhere I check it’s 700

We’ll see on that 7 years of support. The normal 8 isn’t even getting all of the new updates that the Pro is getting, who knows what this phone will get in like 3, 4 years

    • @katinasoutherland7693

      May 7, 2024 at 1:19 pm

This is so crazy to me how anyone can have this kind of response to software support. Samsung was the worst at it for years & years charging 1000+ bucks for a phone that wouldn’t last 3 years, Google always gave 3+3.

    • @superiortoall22

      May 7, 2024 at 2:22 pm

@@katinasoutherland7693 trust me, I’ve had my schpill with Sony, Red Magic, Zubia, etc for their lack of support however at least they’re upfront with their short support. Going from 3 years of support to 7 years suddenly seems like a cash grab, especially with Googles history of canceling projects and with their 7 series and regular 8 pixel already not receiving certain updates even though they can easily handle those features.

    • @someoneelse1550

      May 7, 2024 at 2:31 pm

7 years of support means 7 years of software updates – this means android it’ll get up to android 21. Not that it’ll get every feature drop for the next 7 years.

    • @superiortoall22

      May 7, 2024 at 3:05 pm

@@someoneelse1550 there should be no reason why the 8 or 7 series shouldn’t be getting feature drops. If they aren’t getting those drops on simple updates then trying to put Android 19 or 20 on a 5 or 6 year phone doesn’t seem believable. Implementing these updates on older phones are complicated and ends up being more costly. That’s why phone manufacturers except for Apple haven’t been doing it for a while

    • @jihigh482

      May 7, 2024 at 10:15 pm

It’s a scam. They are expecting the people who are gonna keep their phones that long to be such a small group that their complaints will be lost in the void

  3. @brunonavarro2237

    May 7, 2024 at 12:47 pm

I’m really disappointed with Google. I bought a Pixel 7 last year thinking it would get all the latest features since everyone always said they supported updates for years… Now even their middle range phone is getting the latest photo and video editing features, but my phone won’t. It’s looking more and more like Apple’s devices.

    • @hungrydavo

      May 7, 2024 at 3:34 pm

There are limits to what they can bring to older phones, without it being a terrible experience. But ultimately they need to differentiate the phones or you won’t ever buy a new one 😂. I think they do a good job to keep supporting the older phones, having moved from Samsung.

  4. @townee23

    May 7, 2024 at 12:51 pm

    still limited storage. no microsd.

    • @hungrydavo

      May 7, 2024 at 3:36 pm

Not a really desired feature to have MicroSD, and I don’t want to pay extra for that. Some other providers offer that, but they are poor sellers. Google is more about cloud storage/features.

    • @sk6056

      May 7, 2024 at 11:54 pm

I disagree w/ other user about it not being a desired feature, I still love mine on my back-up phones. I would love it on this or switch to Samsung in a heartbeat if they brought back card storage. Or a removable battery. But alas, they’re NEVER going back to the sd or any other insert-able/removable storage media . They want total control of the phone, data, and the $$ that they charge for upgraded storage.

  5. @WrexBF

That’s such a nice size, why are the bezels so damn huge? I don’t like how tall the pixel 8 is so, I’ll stick with my Pixel 5 for another year or two.

What a waste of effort for Google… what’s the point when the 8 is nearly the same price? I would have liked to see exactly same thing but in a Iphone mini 5.5″ or so size. This would have been a great option instead of just releasing just another pixel 8 in about every respect.

The AI stuff sucks. I find it creepy and it further erodes trust in what we see online. Last year’s camera is a tacit admission that new phones simply do not matter every year because they have run out of things to innovate and given up.

  21. @asistennyaaagiwaheiffelcha7864

Great. How the price in Germany?

    • @udayjadhav4134

      May 8, 2024 at 8:05 pm

549 euro. But the google store is giving massive discount on exchange. I got a 262 euro discount for my 5 years old iphone XR. Eagerly waiting for my 8a now.

  22. @Mr.Arelli

    May 8, 2024 at 10:20 am

What about network issues in India ? since Google Pixel 7a have lots of network issues with airtel, jio. suddenly network will disappear, calls will be dropped, internet wont come.

    Fingerprint issues also there.

Can anyone have any idea these issues got resolved in Google Pixel 8a ?

    • @ritwikmukherjee6455

      May 8, 2024 at 1:59 pm

At least let the phone be released man. Or you can comment the same on any Indian reviewers YouTube channel to get their response.

xfinity has the 7a for $499 but wont answer if they get the 8a at launch
