For people with much more money than sense. I’m rational, so I plugged a $25 3-piece computer speaker system with subwoofer into my TV, and it sounds great with lots of bass. If you’re smart with your money, you can retire early in your 40s like I did – maybe even earlier. Use your head folks.

I find it really funny that there’s so much Hifi you can get for the same money but people want to buy that new fancy Wifi Soundbar that you can combine with kinda usable but still super expensive and not really good speakers as rears and subs.
My dive into the world of modern speakers was terribly disappointing. I’ll just stick with my good old Hifi passive speaker setup that’s producing way more than any bar or Wifi toy for way less money and can basically still provide the same connectivity thanks to modern receivers that drive them.
I don’t get it. Your opinions, guys? 😀

June 5, 2020 at 3:59 am
I agree, even my vintage Kenwood Model Eleven II stereo receiver with a pair of decent two way bookshelf speakers on stands could out perform this thing and cost less in total.

Alexa Gnoß
June 6, 2020 at 9:18 am
@Syed Zaidi Rather the fear or setting up a proper home cinema, isn’t it? Setting up a Hifi system is more complicated than setting up a soundbar. But then, both of them stay at their places and if I integrate backs and subs, they do too. If I wifi-wakeup my soundbar or my receiver doesn’t matter from this point on.
“Not bad” hugely depends. They’re listenable, yes. But far from reproducing what the source is trying to tell them to do.

Keep in mind folks who don’t have an e_arc port on their tv (most TVs 2018 and prior) won’t get Atmos and the sound quality will be lacking. I was really looking forward to this new offering from Sonos too!
Ken Ticich
June 9, 2020 at 5:42 am
I’m not sure why everyone is falling all over themselves for this. It’s crazy expensive when you add just the sub, and ludicrous when you add the surround units. And it has 1 HDMI PORT! Yeah, that’s great it’s eArc, but that really limits it’s flexibility.

Question Cnet. How many more height speakers can you add to the setup if any?

How can he tell it sounds so good when he is in a echo chamber?
It will sound good as it’s Sonos but I could not take his word that is sounds better than anything else
