She mention that the surveillance didn’t stop any terrorist attack, and that the only result was on the agents spying on their romantic interests. And people immediately start laughing at that. urgh… people sucks.

Strongly agree with everything Kade said in this talk and feel that privacy is a fundamental human right. But it’s a bit naive to think that Governments and EvilCorp are not _already_ amassing the data and tracking everyone. Facebook users have been training the face detection algorithm for _years_ and look at how Amazon Go convenience store tracks your every movement! Google already has everyone’s personal (email, voice and photo/video) data. Surely it’s not a stretch to assume others can access it _already_ … ?

We lack the oversight of government employees. Essentially, government would be accountable but, it would be a single PERSON/employee or group within gov responsible. for abuse.

I do feel like privacy is dead these days. I see CCTVs everywhere. But on the other hand, I feel extra safe at night because of them. There are always two sides of a coin.

What happens when you get attacked under cctv? Criminals don’t care about it, nor can police teleport to you.
This is about power and control not about your safety… your thinking is so wrong and thats what those in power are counting on

This is already out of date. The new Patriot Act Legislation has removed the legal requirement for a warrant. Law enforcement can now just look up your internet/phone data.Anytime.

This is dumb. If we had face recognition Tek and no privacy we would not need privacy because all criminals would be caught and the would would be a better place. I once left my curtains open 1 time and my house got broken into. No one would have broken into my house if everything had cameras

Even scarier – the Communist Chinese government is ahead of US on facial recognition software. They constantly surveil their own people and the Chinese citizens have no rights.
