What the World Can Learn From China’s Innovation Playbook | Keyu Jin | TED
In the last few decades, China has gone from technological scarcity to abundance. What sparked this shift? Economist Keyu Jin explores how China has fostered a model of innovation unlike any other and shows why understanding its competitive, collaborative approach could benefit the world — and perhaps demystify some contradictions. If you love watching TED…

Wow TED Talk took the CCP money. China is the biggest innovation idea stealing country and probably handing out thumb drives to hack some of the people attending. China products quality is the worst and all of this after infringing on pattens. China with its people …. Do what we tell you or how much we pay you or go to prison.

China is an autocracy!
That’s nothing marvelous about it!
Compare China development with Taiwan, both in GDP per capita and tech level!
Yes, there’s wonderful tech from the Chinese (in Taiwan). Mainland is still playing catch up and that’s just another reason for the politics wanting to take over Taiwan – by force of course, because there’s no other way to conquer free people on a much healthier democracy.

There are so many ignorant comments here. If you are willing to get out of your bubble and do some independent thinking and research, you would find out the innovation and entrepreneurship are displayed everywhere in China. You think a country can achieve this magnitude of achievement only through centralized governance? Your comments about the speaker’s life will be threatened if she says wrong things is also laughable. What an idiot. Nowadays, the truth is not hard to find, but some lazy dimwits still choose to be brainwashed by anti China propaganda.

Ignore the haters, they are in denial. China is ahead of the world in innovation in more areas than it is not and that is the result of hard work and innovation, since you cannot “steal” what others don’t have to begin with. The same thing happened to Japan in the 80’s is happening to China now, nothing new from the West other than the same old false accusations and more hate towards those who aren’t like themselves.

Kun Zhang
May 16, 2023 at 7:39 pm

Miss Jin volunteers to be the mouthpiece of Chinese narrative for innovation however in a superficial way and from a perspective of China as a laggard in the world securing its unique way to thrive, which is rather refreshing among the usually deployed coercive and confident way such as ‘The West is in decline whereas China is on the rise’ by China’s mainstream nationalistic mouthpiece. The flaw of her approach is that herself has made little contribution to the western society where she only takes advantage of Western inclusive education system as China’s vested interest, studying in the west in order to better defend China’s ‘uniqueness’ to enjoy developing country benefits forever with the West’s unconditional support, being it forced tech transfer or non-compliance of WTO market entry regulations. If you don’t know who Miss Jin is, it’s not your fault, the only source of her recognition majorly comes from that her farther squeezed her into high profile international forums such as Davos, with his influence as one of a few Chinese top economic officials, to speak with other then prominent China’s old friends, nonetheless her talking points are lacking of substance that can effectively convince the West to believe that China is a trustworthy partner in the rules-based system to work with on innovation.

Four words for the doubters “wake the Fxxk up”, only folks that have been to China and experience life there would understand what she is talking about, the rest will most likely are just ignorant to what’s happening. It’s unprecedented in human civilisation on what they did and are doing over in China, only time will tell I guess. She described it perfectly in the 80s and up to 2000, most part of China is like any poor, third world countries, no water, electricity people did not have enough to eat, was there in the later part of the 90s. Today it’s totally unrecognisable. I remember in the 90s, as foreigners we are easily recognised when crossing the border from Hong Kong to Shenzhen, one would be crowded by children and handicapped beggars asking for some change. Today’s Shenzhen is the hi tech city with GDP surpasses Hong Kong.

TBH, all of this means nothing. Absolutely a big fat, zero. The CCP, can at ANYTIME, AT WILL, slap a charge against you and everything you’ve ever worked for disappears in front of you. Criticize the CCP? You’re a dead man. As simple as that. Laws? It’a joke in china. Citizen rights? NONE. Without even the most basic human rights, china will NEVER be a respected country. It’s all a big, fat lie and mirage. There is no IP rights of any kind as in zero enforcement, china is one of the FEW countries where hacking and stealing technology is not only encouraged, but REWARDED. Even XI was on TV where he PERSONALLY Declare the invasion of Taiwan BY FORCE if Taiwan refuses to “bow down” to this zero human rights country – ON TV, broadcasted to the ENTIRE world to make his point. Innovation? Sure. It just means everything from your bank account, to your bio information – EVERYTHING belong to the CCP. LMAO. 🤣🤣🤣🤣💀💀

“remove red tape, check.” find a job for your spouse, check” you mean governmental corruption? Strange flex there. If red tape is valid to prevent problems it shouldn’t be bypassed. If it is a piece of corruption it should be removed for everyone, not just for a few fortunate enough to have the government smile on them. The system she describes, and doesn’t even seem to notice, is a system built to control its people.

China is still backward & poor without learning (stealing) the technologies from the West! China’s economy Leaped Forward (Not Mo’s Leap Forward) after joining WTO with US (Clinton’s) support. China’s manufacturing sector was kicked started by Hong Kong’s investment & know-how! All these are forgotten now.
