It’s definitely good to read multiple theories and opinions. There often is no right decision just decisions with different outcomes depending on what you value more. The only wrong choice is doing something you think will solve a problem but instead makes that exact problem worse and it is irreversible.

IMO, most people expect others to have ethics, but will be slippery as heck and not have them towards others. This is where they can benefit from others having ethics/morality, but they themselves don’t have to behave that same way, easy out for them, no accountability

Maybe this can be taught to our politicians or at least refreshed.

As a human being, one has no standpoint to teach others to be a human being correctly.

That is so much fluff. There’s almost no content in what he said.
The issue with ethics is that it is geared towards increasing the “overall win of the society”. However, oftentimes ethics require you to sacrifice your own interests in order to generate greater interests to the society.
People do recognize sacrifices. Or at the very least, advertise your sacrifices so that people know.
The deal here is that, if you behave ethically, you may (or may not) lose in the short term, but in the long run, you will come out ahead.
To be honest, I think what I wrote above has more content — reasoning — than what this guy said.

Ethical theory book? It’s called the Bible. Otherwise, anybody could write a new version of the ethical theory handbook every few years according to whatever they feel is right based on what their culture is currently doing, which makes it meaningless. People will naturally keep pushing the limits towards the wrong, which is why we now have more “modern” ethical theory books than what we started with, the Bible.
