Shareholders are wiped out depositors will be made whole. This is only the beginning of what is to come as the economy is coming off the rails. Think about this for a minute a bank takes deposits and invest them knowing they will ruin investors if they fail. If banks are failing, it’s a sign that spending is starting to contract Government measurements are always lagging. Look how long they took to figure out inflation was going up when everyone in this country knew it for months, yet the fed kept pumping money into the system. I would like to know what Aaron Klein said about the economy in 2006? I bet he was wrong just like every other economist who make predictions just before a recession.

Those were great questions: is the failure contained? Who bears the losses of it (i.e. who are the uninsured)? And how quickly can this situation be resolved (and what can be learned from it!)? Personally I knew nothing about banking systems and I’ve gone down a very interesting rabbit hole.

We have bail-ins now so no more bail-outs. The depositors will be the bail-ins per the new banking laws since 2008. If you put your money in a bank, you are considered an “investor” in that bank and could lose it all.
