not if we assume all labor ,even specialised labour , will achieve a great deal of automation in the future. If that’s the case then it doesn’t matter who “can’t” afford it. Those who “can’t” afford are of no use to meta, they’ll release a “downscaled/low end” version when they’ve gotten way better at making them so the margin stays high whilst selling at scale. Right now it’s Just a matter of finding the right market and further developing a product. If you made something for “everyone” you would get nowhere. I think this is why meta going forward should and is going to lean into professional capability rather than entertainment. When the most dominant companies start to leverage the meta verse for productivity and growth, they start to swallow up competition unwilling to adapt. Meta can then reinvent itself almost how Amazon has been doing outside of retails and potentially ride another high of decades of unrivalled dominance in a space. The machine keeps chugging, understand how the machine works.

This is not gonna sell 700 max , for that price I expect a lot more functionality and customization. It’s like they’re charging more for basic features that’s been around, it’s giving iPhone.

If it’s 700, other headsets will be terminated, so it must be 1500.

I still can’t get past the back to the future goggles. It feels we are right back in the 80’s.

It seems Meta is going to make anyone willing to pay $1,500 a next level human being. Clearly these devices with be able to interact across Facebook, IG, WhatsApp and more. Those that can’t afford the $1,500 will have to watch in amazement as those who can afford the price interact with everyone in the codec avatar render. CRAZY

So they intend people to pay on their idea instead of the actual state of the product? Last time i checked, this is called a scheme 🤷🏾‍♂️.
