So, ive ordered the 45MM GPS, its my first Apple Watch. Do you think I should have rather gone for the 7?

    • David Jacobs

      September 15, 2022 at 3:03 pm

      The 7 is being discontinued.

    • Themme

      September 15, 2022 at 5:00 pm

      @David Jacobs discontinued? Source?

    • David Jacobs

      September 15, 2022 at 5:04 pm

@Themme Apple. They always discontinue the previous year’s model when a new one comes out.

7 is a better deal for sure. Flipkart & Amazon have deal days coming so 7 will have competitive price.

    • Nicholas

@Bollywood Babu do you know when Amazon will have the deal?

The one that suits your needs & budget.

    • Boiiiii

      September 15, 2022 at 2:38 pm

Just go for the 7, Only if you really want ovulation tracking and car crash detection (although that’s in the new iPhones too) only then I would go for the 8. Otherwise 7 is a better deal if you can get it for 60 bucks cheaper.

    • Totoy Bibo

      September 15, 2022 at 2:50 pm

      ultra

    • Boiiiii

      September 15, 2022 at 3:03 pm

@Totoy Bibo eh, idk if the ultra is worth it as a first Apple Watch. It doesn’t blend in as easily with a lot of styles, it’s more expensive and it’s a bit large for some wrists. If you’re an athlete or really really into extreme sports then go for the ultra. Uitgereisde just go with the 7 or 8

  6. You Tube

    September 15, 2022 at 1:38 pm

Crash detection is great technology to put into vehicles but an absolutely pointless function for a watch or phone that just takes up valuable battery space, but the same can be said for the majority of the pointless sensors on the watch, wasted battery space.

I am a prospective consumer where i am conflicted with the choice of the smart watch SE 2 or the 7. Anyone made this choice already? Thanks!!

    • Boiiiii

      September 15, 2022 at 2:34 pm

I went for the 7, it was 50 euros of difrence for me. You get an always on display, ecg, blood oxygen, better battery life (if you turn of the always on display) a ceramic back and a bigger display. Especially the bigger display and the always on display make a huge difference in day to day use. The new SE does have car crash detection and It may get updates for a year longer than the series 7 but otherwise the 7 is a wayyyy better watch. The 7 will get updates for years to come, so you don’t have to worry about it being almost obsolete.
To conclude: go for the 7

    • purplecat345

      September 15, 2022 at 3:16 pm

@Boiiiii that is a lot of fair points. My concerns are the screen size. I liked the 45mm. And the 44mm is kind of just shy of what i want. And the extra $50 is a lot but since it will be basically the same device i can manage that. I was also having fomo for the se 2 due to the “better” processor but i hear that it is just a rebranded 6 chip? I need correction on this. Haha

  9. Sergei Lizotte

    September 15, 2022 at 2:05 pm

S8 cpu is the same as series 6 & 7, so disappointing. Better wait for next year, rumours point toward a new mini-led screen and design change. This will be a game changer.

Is it worth upgrading from a series 4?

    • johnbay123

      September 15, 2022 at 4:07 pm

@Greatness welcome am in a similar train of thought myself. Making a list of differences usually helps. I feel past few upgrades. Haven’t been anything major. The ultra is the exception.

    • Rudy Kulkarni

      September 15, 2022 at 4:18 pm

im considering upgrading to ultra from 4

    • Greatness

I really wanted to upgrade but this only makes me love my stainless S4 watch more. Still received the update and still running smooth. I can get some new bands and I’m happy. I truly believe the series 4 Apple Watch is and was the best to have..

    • ssj6boy

      September 15, 2022 at 6:47 pm

@6Speed Life I agree. I just upgraded from S4 to S7. I only did it because I found a good deal and wanted to give my S4 to my father.

    • 6Speed Life

      September 16, 2022 at 12:32 am

@Felix Five I guarantee the series 4 will continue to receive updates until the next watch. By then hopefully something better will be out. The battery is no different between the 4 and the 7. Within 2 days you will need to charge it

  14. David Jacobs

    September 15, 2022 at 3:06 pm

The Ultra is super ugly in my opinion.

  15. Bigtruckseriesreview Motorsports

    September 15, 2022 at 3:13 pm

Frankly, the only features I use are the automatic biometrics.

    ECG
    Heartrate
    Pedometer
    Stairs climbed

I don’t wear these things when I sleep.

My applewatch 6 is sitting in the bottom of the INDIAN OCEAN in Maldives because the strap unbuttoned itself whilst I was swimming.
The first time I ever lost a watch that expensive.

I gave my mom my Applewatch 2 when I upgraded to the 6 and it’s still doing just fine. She only uses the pedometer and clock.

I will wait until the 3rd revision of Applewatch Ultra before I buy again.

I was thinking about upgrading but after watching this I’m cool with the series 4 Apple Watch that i have. I don’t really see anything that’s grabbing my attention with the new Apple Watch. So thank you

  19. Raybans_12

    September 15, 2022 at 4:49 pm

Square watch face, terrible battery life, very little new features, Ultra model too big, over priced, unreliable step and sleep tracking, screen will shatter easily, oh,. Did I mention the ugly square watch face that’s has never changed?

  20. Gregory Stewart

    September 15, 2022 at 5:01 pm

The safety features in case of a crash is great. Also the compass has been redesigned with backtrack…

That is a WatchOs 9 feature available when you update older watch os

    • 6Speed Life

So I thought about getting the ultra just for that and just keep my 13pro

  21. Angel Hernandez

    September 15, 2022 at 6:52 pm

I dont know why they always make charging the watch a bigger deal than it is. I get home from work charge my watch. Then when it’s done I put it back on and sleep with it.

If you’re used to that, sure.
It’s just another device to remember to charge. Because let’s face it, if you forget to charge at night one time, you’ve no watch for the entire day.
I’m not getting a smart watch until it gets to about 1 week between charges.

  22. Luke Pruscino

Noticed how phones and smartwatches changed places in recent years. Like before we used to be super hyped on new iPhones because of all the new features. But now smartwatches are stealing the show especially this year.

I’m upgrading my gold stainless steel S6 Apple Watch to the Ultra. I can’t wait. My gold stainless steel is pretty though but the features in ultra is awesome. And love the longer battery life.

  30. Independent Rider

What I’d like to see in a device like this is a heart beat monitor that triggers an alarm to a local hospital when your heart stops! Elderly relatives living alone could be collected immediately on death instead of potentially rotting for days/weeks/even months before being discovered!

I’m signed up for cryogenic freezing so a system like the above combined with GPS would allow a cryonic standby team to not only know immediately when I passed but also exactly where my body is for rapid collection and freezing! I’m keeping a close eye on this technology to see what develops in the next 10 to 20 years!

I’m looking to buy my first Apple Watch, but is there any concerns with the radiation the watch puts off?

    • Michael Perna

      September 16, 2022 at 8:23 pm

No. Tech devices give off radiation that is non ionizing, meaning, it can’t change atomic or molecular structures. Not all radiation can hurt you. There’s a spectrum of radiation and the types that you can look up. Ionizing radiation is what you need to be concerned about

  33. liquidmojo

    September 16, 2022 at 8:32 pm

IIRC an 8-10 minute quick charge with AW7 and AW8 and presumably the Ultra, will give you enough charge for overnight sleep tracking.
