Hi Justin, it’s been a while. Doing a marvellous job as usual. It’s amazing to see the huge impact Apple Watch has in your life now. Feels like yesterday I watched that video about your health condition. Hope you’re well and happy. Cheers!

I had ni idea it could be associated with a diabète sensor and alert you if it goes to high or too low
    It’s insane
But sadly it REQUIRE an iPhone and the Apple Watch cost pretty expensive…

Great video! As someone who’s a type 2 diabetic & uses a freestyle Libre 2 Sensor to monitor my own diabetes. The Apple Watch is essential to my daily lifestyle. 😎

Someone for the love of god tell them to make it circular…I love my apple watch but hate the look. I want it to feel like a fancy nice watch instead of some kind of calculator watch…

It’s going to be groundbreaking if Apple can make a future model with glucose monitor that works properly.

1:43 An accelerometer does not detect velocity – a sentence that does not make any sense, a sensor cannot determine the occurrence of an intensity.

It, as the name establishes, detect an acceleration -correlate its rate, a change in linear movement.

An Apple watch has multiple accelerometers, one for each axis of the three dimensional Cartesian coordinate system.

A gyroscope does not detect gravity – it is nonsensical regarding the physics involved – it can determine angular movement in relation to an axis of inertia – x, y and z.

This is great and all, but you don’t make it clear if ALL Apple Watches are capable of contacting emergency services (EMS). Apple Watches that are wi-fi only will need to be near its paired iPhone AND have a network connection to call EMS. If you’re out and about with a wi-fi only Apple Watch without its iPhone, you’re out of luck. On the other hand, Apple Watches with cellular service need a network connection to call. Your video needs to be clear about this. Also, your 1:45 description of what accelerometers and gyroscopes do is incorrect. The former detects changes in velocity while the latter detects changes in spatial orientation.

I have a watch that cost $36 and the battery lasted 2 years. I don’t even have to charge it and it keeps perfect time. It’s called a Timex!

Technology is like Windows XP. About the time they get most of the bugs out of XP, they scrap the project and replace it with something else that slows your computer down to a crawl and contains spyware and adware! and now you need an entire new computer. Screw that

Great video Justin. My dad had a mini heart attack and I got both of my parents the Apple Watch. And just yesterday my mother told me the Apple Watch told my dad that he had been resting for a several minutes but his heart rate was elevated. Nice to see how technology is helping save lives and keep our loved ones alive. Keep up the good work.

While these things are great for people who are well off financially, I really wish that Tech companies in general would stop catering their products to only the “rich” crowd. I’m not saying that these companies should give their products away for free. My point is that there are some people, in this country, whose main choice in life is between food and medication. Health and well-being should not have to be considered a luxury.

    • Varun Srinivas

      August 18, 2022 at 1:54 pm

I do agree with what you’re saying about health becoming a luxury, but the Apple Watch has never and will never be recommended by a health professional for medical purposes. The watch is simply a tracker that simply has these health features in the event of emergencies. From what I’ve seen in this video, a load of these health features are already available in multiple smartwatches, much more affordable ones too. The diabetes tracker for example can be paired up with much more affordable android watches as well. The same applies to the medical ID, emergency SOS and also meditation. So it isn’t really true that these features are exclusive to more well off people. CNET has been becoming more and more biased towards apple products lately so this video gives the idea that this is the only smartwatch with these features.

    • Kiko Music

      August 18, 2022 at 10:24 pm

Not to say that everyone can afford it still, but I also thought it was outside of my affordability until I realized that cell service providers will commonly finance smart watches. I wouldn’t have been able to afford mine if Verizon didn’t allow me to pay it off at like $20/month, for a lot of folks that could be done with just replacing a couple of subscription services like netflix or hulu; don’t gotta be rich to afford Netflix and Hulu, it just depends on what a person sees as more important to spend money one I guess is all lol

Good presentation. I would strongly recommend that you have a ‘mini’ fridge next to where you sleep, one that is tall enough to hold a carton size container. They are not expensive ($100?), are very quiet, and really convenient. Should that blood sugar moment ever happen again you really wouldn’t even need to quickly get out of bed, which may have been part of the reason you fainted that one time. Females with babies often use these tiny little refrigerators to store their breast milk in the bedroom near their baby. Again, they are super quiet, and keep the few items inside quite cool. You can find them online at Amazon and Walmart. You will wonder how you ever lived without one….
