Why mountain house? It looks like you guys just picked whatever was at Wal-Mart. There are tons of better products out there if you just looked a little harder.

Nasty and expensive.. those meals are like $20 after tax here in California.. better off buying your own dehydrator

      July 28, 2022 at 5:35 pm

    • ufinityy

      July 28, 2022 at 7:12 pm

@Demus not possible when backpacking haha, these meals are pretty much just for survival

      July 28, 2022 at 8:31 pm

@ufinityy of course its possible it just takes a little more work

    • ufinityy

      July 29, 2022 at 6:34 pm

@Demus not if you go backpacking for a week, normal food cannot last that long and it isnt practical to carry around methods of refrigeration. not to mention these meals are so much lighter

Oh my god these look disgusting. Why is there a market for bullocks in US?

    • Star City Rideshare

      July 28, 2022 at 3:38 pm

These are meals for backpackers not everyday use. Their purpose is to be somewhat palatable, nutritionally dense, easy and light to carry and require minimal preparation.

      July 28, 2022 at 4:11 pm

@Star City Rideshare you just described crackers aka hardtack

    • ezioaltairac

      July 29, 2022 at 1:01 am

I have a food allergy, easy to pack, carry, edible, will not put me in hospital, do not have to deal with ignorant waitstaff, can take on a plane…with overnight layovers and cancellations this may be a good back up food for travelling.
