Hdmi 2.1?

Probably not. No reason a soundbar would need it, They expect any 2.1 devices to go directly to the TV, then pass the audio to this.

i don’t really get why people buy soundbars. in my opinion the best way to improve the sound quality is to buy a subwoofer and use it with tv speakers and if after that you want better sound then buy two floor standing speakers to use with the sub. 🙂

@Liberty Liberty i basically already explained this. i don’t think the majority of people need 5.1 to be satisfied with the audio. yes some people want that and that’s fine. i am just trying to explain that for the majority of people i think it’s a waste of money. me personally i like 5.1 with a sub (or maybe two 😛 )that can go to like 15hz. 🙂 But i realise that i am minority. Most people don’t care that much. They just want a bit more bass than their tv speakers have. 🙂

@nebulous Saving space is a very popular reason. Some do not have the capacity for multiple. It’s not like that is their first choice but it is the ideal choice.

@nebulous It is a weird take to say “don’t really get why people buy soundbars” on a video about a soundbar that comes with 5.1.2 and with not only rear speakers but also upfiring speakers. and then clarified you were talking about basic soundbar with no rear speakers.

@Liberty Liberty i am just trying to help people so they don’t waste money on something they don’t need.

@Liberty Liberty when i said i was talking about basic soundbar? I don’t think this conversation is very beneficial cus there seems to be alot of miss interpretation. Maybe there is some language barrier cus i am not native English speaker? Well anyway i hope you have a nice day. 🙂 I probably won’t be responding to this comments more cus i would prefer to spend my time doing something else.🙂

@nebulous You can’t just hook up a subwoofer to a modern tv. It doesn’t work that way. You’ll NEED either a soundbar to connect the subwoofer to, or a whole separate speaker system set-up

@Ian Davids what you mean? I have done it many times. All i needed was a 3.5mm to rca adapter. 🙂 Don’t modern TVs have a headphone jack anymore? Or don’t they allow you to use TVs speaker and headphone jack at the same time anymore?🙂

@nebulous actually i’d say people want better mids than sub bass, dialogues are hard to hear on a TV speaker, the difference going from TV speakers to soundbar depends on the quality of the TV speakers themselves (some are actually decent) and whether or not the soundbar is atleast 3.1 channel.

@Punty A yes i agree that if the tv speakers are so terrible that you can’t even understand what people are saying then yes it would probably be beneficial to get something more than a sub.

I don’t know why most of the soundbar manufacturer doesn’t add more than 1 HDMI input with HDR 10, HDR 10+, and Dolby Vision passthrough. I have an old one from Sony HT-NT5 that came with 3 HDMI-IN. All supports the 4K 60Hz HDR passthrough. But it’s missing on some of the newer formats. I’m planning on replacing it a new one that has just a soundbar and subwoofer. But most of them only comes with 1 HDMI out and 1 HDMI-in.

Ty,
In your experience, what would provide better sound for watching television – HDMI or optical?

From what I see it looks like a impressive sound bar. And it’s doesn’t seem to cost a whole lot of money for something good. What’s your thoughts on it?
