Can we have this design, but the propellers like far above the user instead of in the same plane? Want to avoid mowing the lawn.

Does it have a parachute so that if all power to the motors is cut off a chute might deploy? Automatically? Otherwise, forget it.

no way that thing is flying high enough to give a parachute enough time to deploy and take effect.
Ted Unguent
July 4, 2022 at 10:19 pm
@hunterd78 It’s possible to develop a quick deploying device to slow it down or even a paraglider wing type. Anything besides just letting it fall. It doesn’t weigh that much.
hunterd78
July 4, 2022 at 10:45 pm
@Ted Unguent maybe, but it depends on how much weight can be added to it without throwing things off. Depends on how much wiggle room there is in the capability of the motors and props. More weight to the frame means less weight for the pilot and possibly less flight time.

Of course I would. I’ve been waiting all my life for “The Future” to happen… Ie.. robots, monorails, flying cars, flat screens, space travel… Everything commonplace in The Jetsons Circa 2062… This is just one piece closer towards that dream!

So many naysayers. Future models will be made lighter, and will have more energy dense batteries. Currently you can fly within a 20 mile radius before recharging, or a round trip up to 10 miles away. This is the beginning of this technology. The first automobiles couldn’t go that far either. Advanced composites, body and wing redesign, more efficient motors, and higher capacity batteries will open new possibilities. A 50% increase in battery density will increase the total possible fight area by more than double. More than a 2,200 square mile area. And again, this is just the beginning

This is an awesome aircraft. I was a test pilot for Robinson Helicopter company for 30 years and my biggest worry/fear for pilots with this concept is wire strikes. Everything I’ve seen is low level which is giving the impression that is how it should be flown which it is not. Low level is safe in very familiar terrain but that’s about it.

Everyone who reports on any Ultralight stops short after the statement “you don’t need a pilot’s license”. Yes, but you do need to pass an extensive written test showing complete mastery of the airspace system and all of its complex rules and regulations. And you need to demonstrate flying skill to a qualified ultralight instructor/examiner. We all see idiots everyday on the roads, imagine if they were given free rein to do the same at 300 feet AGL (above ground level). The bottom line is, it’s not as easy as it looks.

It looks so fake at 4:31. How did they get a camera out in front? It looks like the aircraft is in front of a green screen. It’s so jerky in its movements. There’s a shadow on the ground but those can be edited in.

Love to see that. But my concerns are about safety and security.
Will the rotors being shielded to not hurt anyone or simply to prevent getting stuck on a Powerline? And as someone that prefer less traffic noise, I wonder how much decibel it produces.

Why fly so low? I imagine it’s more fun to fly low, but it’s bound to be more dangerous. One could easily clip a tree or a powerline. Plus, if you flew at several thousand feet, there would be time to deploy a parachute if something bad happened.

Reduced his commute time by 88%? So they’re saying his commute originally took him over 40 minutes to travel the 3 miles (as the crow flies I’m presuming)? How slow do they drive in Italy, or how windy are the roads?
