The 1st iPhone I had was the iPhone 5s. My expectations of it were very low and over time it just wasn’t for me. I now have a Samsung Galaxy S10 FE 5G & I haven’t looked back since.

Resistance is futile. lol. Seriously though Apple has become a cheerleader of itself and gives a false persona of being an elite product with features no one else has that are rehashed ideas of their competition. Their phones do have excellent cameras yet the features are rarely available out the box and are added during post hardware release. Their domination of messaging services are only in the US and have a small footprint globally. They’re fun, it’s convenient but limited to what Apple wants you to have.

@A3rdeye And that slogan “they do it last but they’re doing it better (which doesn’t apply always mind you)… If your clients have to wait for years and years to get a software or hardware feature you better do it better after all these years!”. But yes, in Europe iMessage is a non factor. Thank the Gods.

I had the first iPhone back in 2007 and continue to have an iPhone now. Skipped a few models here and there, but overall I’ve been pleased with the eco system. The fact of the matter is, many items within the apple eco system just work. Expensive, yes. Walled garden? Perhaps. But it works.

Ive used a mac since my LC II back in 1992 and still using a mac now. But the iPhone has never been a very compelling phone to me. The iOS was always crippling and boring unlike the MacOS which was slick and beautiful. I’ve had the first 2 iPhones and switch to Android just because the phones are more customizable and had more tech features. Over the years I’ve been persuaded to flip since EVERYONE has one including my family, and I’ve tried over and over. Im missing out on Facetime and messages, but I just cant do it. I need that back button on the bottom right hand side of the screen ,lol.

My first iPhone was an iPhone 4 which I bought in October 2010 replacing a Nokia 6233.What a difference! Have updated every year since but am now struggling to afford it every year so will probably skip the 14 series and stick with my 13 Pro Max for another year.

You never enjoyed a phone that much before bc you probably never owned a Samung Galaxy phone 😏
The amount of flexibility and freedom you have with Samsung/Android is great. You really feel like you’re getting your money worth.

The expirence is night and day compared to iOS. For the way I like to use my phone, Samsung phones just work better for me

The original 2007 iPhone is the only piece of technology I have shown to a 5 year old and a 70 year old relative and they both knew instinctively how to operate it.

The iPhone is amazing. But it has its drawbacks. The big one with smartphones in general, they consume loads of time. People are on them all the time. It’s hard to get peoples attention because they’re on their phones. They lost touch with reality. They only care about what’s trending on instagram. Not to mention how much of our personal information is on their phones. All of that at Apple’s disposal. They could someday use it against us

iPhones are not as popular in the UK as in America. The reason is that Apple determines the UK price of any hardware by simply changing the dollar sign to a pound sign. By contrast Samsung charge the same price in real terms as in America making Samsung phones 20% cheaper that iPhones in the UK. Also iPhones do not support millimetre wave 5G in the UK, making a UK iPhone much less capable that an American iPhone.

I bought an iPhone SE 2020 model last year. It was a huge mistake.
All of the Apple services, that I subscribe to at the time, did me absolutely no good since the iPhone I was using them on was a horrible experience. After about 8 months of misery, I finally dumped my iphone. I had such a bad experience with my iphone, that I decided to see what type of phones the Android ecosystem offered. I finally settled on the Samsung Galaxy s22 ultra as my replacement phone. I realize that comparing the iPhone SE 2020 to the Galaxy s22 ultra is not a fair comparison. What I will say, though, is that I am currently having a much better experience with the Galaxy s22 ultra and the ecosystem that Google offers. I know that Google does not have the best record when it comes to privacy. I am willing to make that trade off.
