Google phones with Tensor has been a disaster. They’ve been plagued with software issues from the beginning. Google has been patching their phones since the Google Pixel 6 & 6 pro came out, but still more problems keep coming. BTW, while Google is offering 5 years of security patches and 3 years of OS software, Samsung Galaxy A 53 5G offers 5 years of security patches and 4 years of OS software. I’ll stick to Samsung until then.

sony and redmi are the only ones seemingly left in the headphone jack club, this year the pixel A series and samsung A series dropped their jacks. The slow-burn plan to force consumers to buy dongles and wireless earbuds is entering its final phase.

I absolutely love it. I don’t think I’ll get the 7 pro this year. I might as well wait for the 8 Pro or whatever

Pixel 6a is 6.1inches? Y does it have to be so massive. Was hoping for a smaller phone like the pixel 5 or Z1 compact sizes are.

Will have to see in person, otherwise I won’t be getting the phone cause it’s far too big

Samsung has five years of security updates and 4 years of operating system updates so they beat Google in that butt Samsung resale value is crap compared to Google although Apple has the best resale value and the longest updates

Hmm, I have a Pixel 5a since launch last year and I like it but that Tensor chip in the 6a would be a huge step up from the Snapdragon 600 series(?) Chip in my 5a. I might actually do something I almost never do and get a new phone after a year. However I like that I should be able to go 3-5 years on it with OS and security updates. I think 5a and older phones only get 2 years OS updates, not sure about security.

6:26 Yes, and the camera was always a no-brainer in Pixel phones. The dark light performance and the colors were always the best. Now I don’t see any real hardware improvements from this video.

I have a 3a that still works great for my fairly basic needs. But I want something new that runs snappier so I’ll probably go with the 7 when it comes out, unless it’s crazy expensive then I’ll get the 6a

Why was huawei the only company that took always huge leaps and lots of improvements from its predecessors. All others are just you know “calm down don’t take risks people wont need and wont use this feature or hardware” they learned from apple , apple loves to take it very slow.

  36. Jason

    May 12, 2022 at 11:18 pm

I have the 6 and love it. Just a bit big for my taste. 5″8 is the best size for a phone. It’s fine without a case though. I have a dbrand skin for some protection and to make it less slippery. If they continue to make the A series smaller I might go for a 7a if it has the refresh rate bump unlike the 6a, but a better camera sensor is a big deal. Just compared pics with the Pixel 2 I kept and 6 pics are way better, and that Pixel 2 has the sensor of the 6a. I’ll probably wait for Pixel 10, as I seem to change phone every 4 years anyway.

      May 13, 2022 at 12:11 am

That is the reason I still use a Pixel 4A. Love the size of the phone. Anything bigger than that, is too big

Will the Pixel 7 have ultrasonic fingerprint scanner? Or is Google sticking with the crappy optical scanner in the current Pixel 6s.

  38. Colin Christianson

    May 13, 2022 at 1:57 am

I want google pixel 7 pro but the 6 pro problems that they said they are buggy and fingerprint sensor is slow and less battery life so I don’t know

  39. Ted Kord

Android updates still at 3 yr support is a no-no deal breaker. Sucks.

  40. Roman A

    May 13, 2022 at 8:13 am

Currently have the 6 pro and it is a total piece of garbage. One of the worst phones I’ve ever had except for the camera. I’m sure 7 will be just as undeveloped at time of release

  41. A-Terrible-Fate

    May 13, 2022 at 12:11 pm

I bought the pixel 6 but the bugs were just too much for me to handle and they were not getting fixed so I had to jump back to the Galaxy phones but I really want to give the pixel light up another try because I loved the speedy voice to text and the Google pixel software features. I hope the pixel 7 and pixel 8 when it comes out have all of the bugs ironed out so that the phones are speedy and operate smoothly like my Samsung Galaxy s22 ultra does then I will probably give them another chance

No wireless charging is ok – I like the adaptive charging feature to charge it overnight incrementally and safely, but display should have been 90hz atleast. And gorilla glass 3 is way old, should have been gorilla glass 5

From the last 7+ years in the USA I have been using Google Pixel, Google Fi, Google mini, Google clips, Google stadia and I have premium membership to YouTube & Google One and my recommendation is
    don’t buy it
    don’t buy it
    don’t buy it
Even if Google gives you free then don’t use it .
If you decide to buy then reach Google support first based on their service and decide whether to buy it or not.

  55. Enzo Gentile

    May 14, 2022 at 5:22 pm

Yeah, the iPhone SE has a wireless charge, but literally uses a design almost 6 year old, that belong to a phone that had the Qi Charge and that was around 700$, so it isn’t a fair comparison.

  58. silveribis55

    May 16, 2022 at 4:35 pm

Do any of the pixel devices have built in barometers, accelerometers, GPS units in them like the midrange Samsungs? Often these were features of a phone that used to be highlighted and important selling points but the markets seems to have moved off from these useful features, or have them but sometimes never specified.

  59. Danny Vargas

    May 16, 2022 at 8:36 pm

Will only upgrade to the pixel 7 from the pixel 3 if it comes with an ultra wide selfie camera. Otherwise, will just stick with the 3.

  60. Thekeyman1

    May 16, 2022 at 10:39 pm

If the next generation of the tensor chip is really good and it has a faster more accurate fingerprint sensor as well as face unlock, wireless charging, ip68 dust and water resistance I’m in there!
