it’s really difficult to imagine living with one of these gadgets speaking the world to you, if you have normal eyesight.
i have normal enough sight with glasses that i do not need these gadgets myself but have been able to test some of these.
and i have to say that the cameras on these are amazing, but if there is some glares on top of the object, at least those models i saw couldn’t cope with that.
but give it 10 more years and, it would almost be better to blindfold yourself and get one of these things instead.

@SCUBE yeah i know, but i have been with blind people and have been able to test out few similar devices, so i know what they are.
it is just that as someone with good enough vision, i could not imagine going fully with such devices.
but then again for someone who needs to use the white stick or guide dog, i could see this being really great help.
one huge issue though is localization, as even thou i can get by with English.
not everyone are able to use it for day to day stuff, so would it be available on other languages?

As a blind gamer the super interests me when it comes to gaming especially. If it can detect things around you, i’m wondering if this would actually work on a TV screen when playing Xbox? Would love to test this out!

Does it have different voices for “front signs/obsticles” & “side signs/obsticles”
Please introduce “group walking” – where you hear virtual people around you telling you about what they see.
A blind person could relax their guard when feeling surrounded by “warning & awareness virtual voices”

I love these kinds of tech stories. It’s awesome to see tech, wearables especially, that can be used for more than showing an app notification or tracking steps. Great video and coverage.

As a totally blind person, it is really refreshing to see a main-stream media outlet covering this kind of tech. Thank you and Keep up the good work.

The silly things about most of the gadgets/tech, apps, & services, for visually impaired nor blind people were all the silly stupid over pricey subscriptions, gadgets, apps, & the services itself. While the free & cheaper versions mostly sucks, which most visually impaired/blind youtubers had tested. Seems all those companies never thought how hard visually impaired/blind people to even get a decent job/work..

I wonder if any of those blind kids in India that were the inspiration could afford $3,500. 🤔 Sad but hopefully in due time these will cost low as $200.

Good tech but they need to make the glasses look more “hip” sexy & cool, (Less geeks) then maybe this piece of tech will take on wings, great ideas without great Aesthetics can sometimes destroy good ideas, combine both & you got something cool everyone wants….
