@Yasuke the Black Samurai Yes i read about that. I think the reason behind the deal not being made was also due to disagreements about the pursuit of the idea of Multiverse.

    April 8, 2022 at 4:08 pm

Inspiring! I imagine this can only be possible when you remove a lot of creative red tape and let the VFX artists breath and do their thing without much hierarchy.

    April 8, 2022 at 4:26 pm

FIVE PEOPLE did the VFX on this??? If you have seen this movie you know how absolutely mind blowing that is. What a feat in filmmaking. I’ve been griping lately about how theaters are empty and cinema is dead. I went to see this on a weekday evening and it was packed and ALIVE. Everyone laughing, crying and engaged. Word of mouth is king. Tell your friends and family. This is a 1 of 1. See it on the big screen while you still can.

0:40 This film is low budget?! I just watched this movie and it has some of the most creative visual effects I’ve ever seen. I would’ve thought it had the budget of a Marvel movie. And the directing and editing is incredible. I had no idea this was an independent film

    • theprowler18

      April 10, 2022 at 12:01 am

Pretty much a great example of, it comes down to a skilled yet talented group of people working together to create pure movie magic. And these mad lads really got a killer team behind the production that really made great use of the limitations. Something we rarely see in cinemas (as most productions have massive, monstrous budgets upwards of $150-200 million nowadays).

    • did you wash your legs today

      April 10, 2022 at 12:15 am

it looks more impressive than marvel films, and that because of the amazing art direction and creative control the team has.

    • Natalia Jimenez

      April 10, 2022 at 10:07 pm

It had a budget of 25M, so it was relatively high for an indie. But they used every penny very well. Their experience with creative but low budget music videos helped them a lot. I would compare it to The Green Knight which also looks absolutely gorgeous with awesome effects and its budget was $15M

It might seem obvious, but I really enjoyed that one scene near the end when Evelyn experiences all the universes, but it goes for a longer duration than usual. It felt so trippy, and being in a dark theater room made it feel much more engulfing, if that makes sense. I loved it.

4:45 “The core thing we all realize as we do visual effects is that it needs to stay grounded with what’s going on in the story. The visual effects should never overtake that” That was definitely directed to Marvel.
