How To Fix The “Bugs” In The Net-Zero Code | Lucas Joppa | TED Countdown
Lucas Joppa, Microsoft’s first chief environmental officer, thinks about climate change through the lens of coding, and he says the world’s current net-zero approach simply won’t compute. So how do we create a system that actually accounts for all the world’s carbon emissions — and helps us get to zero (as in zero additional carbon…

🙂 *these are some most important and precious advices every one should read* 💜🙂
*1.* _Take risks in your life. If you win, you can lead; if you lose, you can guide._
*2.* _People are not what they say but what they do; so judge them not from their words but from their actions._
*3.* _When someone hurts you, don’t feel bad because it’s a law of nature that the tree that bears the sweetest fruits gets maximum number of stones._
*4.* _Take whatever you can from your life because when life starts taking from you, it takes even your last breath._
*5.* _In this world, people will always throw stones on the path of your success. It depends on what you make from them – a wall or a bridge._
*6.* _Challenges make life interesting; overcoming them make life meaningful._
*7.* _There is no joy in victory without running the risk of defeat._
*8.* _A path without obstacles leads nowhere._
*9.* _Past is a nice place to visit but certainly not a good place to stay._
*10.* _You can’t have a better tomorrow if you are thinking about yesterday all the time._
*11.* _If what you did yesterday still looks big to you, then you haven’t done much today._
*12.* _If you don’t build your dreams, someone else will hire you to build theirs._
*13.* _If you don’t climb the mountain; you can’t view the plain._
*14.* _Don’t leave it idle – use your brain._
*15.* _You are not paid for having brain, you are only rewarded for using it intelligently._
*16.* _It is not what you don’t have that limits you; it is what you have but don’t know how to use._
*17.* _What you fail to learn might teach you a lesson._
*18.* _The difference between a corrupt person and an honest person is: The corrupt person has a price while the honest person has a value._
*19.* _If you succeed in cheating someone, don’t think that the person is a fool…… Realize that the person trusted you much more than you deserved._
I
*20.* _Honesty is an expensive gift; don’t expect it from cheap people._
I hope you have learnt something you can recieve more from my this channel🙃🙃🙃…🥰🥰

Soil Regenerative Agriculture CAN remove twice as much CO2 as we’ve emitted….while eliminating fertilizer costs and pollution, increasing water retention in fields by 20 times and COOLS CROPLANDS by 6 – 10°C, and increasing yields after several years.
But Net Zero isn’t about the Climate…it’s all about control of Fossil Fuels ONLY IN THE WEST… to impoverish the Western Economies. Just look at Biden’s irrational actions…US Oil is BAD….Saudi and Iran and Venezuelan Oli is OK. Idiots on the left are the only ones fooled by this (but they already hate the West… every bad thing occurring is what THE LEFT CAUSED since Biden was given the election by Big Social Media with illegal contributions back-door).

So this was a repetitive 10min video with no real solutions, yes net-zero means net-zero and we need to reach it.
Also I would say companies should aim beyond net-zero, because of all the others who won’t meet the target

Cool, write some code so your OS will not function until all computers have a carbon capture device installed using the pc cooling fan as the supply fan. Making the carbon capture module will be the challenge.

I entered XPrize – my model was to measure avoided Co2. It was so effective (because it utilises millions of users daily) that it was kicked out of the competition because they wanted CO2 sequestration and mine was measuring avoidance. If there’re companies serious about innovating through this tricky time – let’s do this – the solution needs money and support.

😂😂😂 That’s stupid, we need carbon for trees and plants “FOOD” to grow. Plus America’s emissions is the best in the world, CHINA & India are the worst countries that produce carbon/POLLUTION!!!!!

Here’s another example of the “There’s an App for that” mentality plaguing modern society. Some problems require actual commitment from people. This is just another effort to solve hard problems with low cost effort from people.

The ‘bug’ is in the whole concept of trading carbon emission responsibility rather than taking actual responsibility for your behavior, and much more importantly changing government policies. The moment you let people buy guilt free cards, they will do so and happily cheat the system to do so. If you really care about global warming it is really very very simple. Renewables are now cheaper than fossil fuels for most power applications and in most parts of the world. They will replace fossil fuels for purely economic reasons. What we need is policies that allow that transition to go faster. eg remove subsidies from fossil fuels. Secondly, we need to be more efficient with our energy use which is actually economically beneficial in the long term but is often not done because the way we do business allow short term profit to beat long term gains. So for example a builder will not add insulation because it costs him more, even though it will save the eventual building owner a significant amount over time. We need to learn to fix that either by policies or by the way we pay for buildings, taking into account savings from better building practices. And finally we need to change farming so that it results in higher soil carbon content. Again, this benefits the farmers in the long term but they don’t do it now because of short term profits. Its easier to burn rain forest than to change your practices on the land you have already destroyed by poor farming practices. Any company that really wants to take responsibility should look at the bigger picture and lobby government for policy changes, not just try to buy their way out of things. As for direct carbon capture from the air, there is nothing more stupid than that.
